Dug up an old CD with some 1RM footage taken years back.
and no im not sitting here just laughing at everyone else. Im in the video at 3:40 with a pretty epic miss myself, as well as later around 4:42 with my ass one mile off the bench.
its worth noting before anyone else points some things out:
no one was ever shown proper squat depth and therefore, never hit acceptable depth once.
the spotting technique was ok for the most part but still some close calls
everyone turned their incline into flat bench by lifting their ass as high as possible
most people turned their flat bench into a decline bench by again, lifting their ass as high as possible
OK think back to when you were in high school, you maybe had better form then these kids do, but I guarantee that you weren’t as strong as them, regardless if they dont lift to powerlifting standards. Your post screams insecurity to me.
They may not have perfect technique, but damn them kids are strong.
you guys are lucky. there just isnt the same physical culture in highschool in the uk, and you aint allowed in the gym to use the weights till youre over 18. (sigh) maybe id now be repping 500lb in the squat instead of working towards it for 1
