You may have said and I missed it, but what is your meet best on squat?

130kgs/286lbs… but it was really just warm up.
Nice squatting, that 300 went nice!
FYI, congratulations on becoming younger!!! Apparently all the St. Thomas results went in as Open class. You could have them correct it if you like.
It’s also funny that you have a higher deadlift than the Open/Master 1 OPA deadlift records! haha I assume you’re waiting until you hit a certain number before you claim your glory.

I noticed I went in as an open lifter. Daniel must have realised I was only 35-10. I keep thinking I should send in for the three records but I just keep breaking them again. I have the squat. I broke the total and deadlift again at the last meet. I don’t have the cash to pay to break my own records
Maybe I’ll do it after Belle River if I don’t suck. I’m feeling fairly confident about squat since I hit 8 lbs below my planned third after doing a shit ton of volume.
Now we’re all waiting with bated breath for your results this Saturday. I really wish you were able to make the Belle River meet. Performance aside, a ton of people will be there and it’s going to be a lot of fun.
I saw my ART today and he says I have a pushed in Coccyx. We’re dealing with it but he tried one manoevre on me while I was lying on my chest that made me involuntarily kick him in the face. I would have felt bad except I was laughing really hard.
I’ve also got something screwed up in my left bicep that’s causing pain down my entire left arm. I’ve had it for a bit and haven’t been able to load the bar by myself. He paid back the face kick with some serious digging around in my arm that made me cry. Good times.
Great squatting. Hope the back and bicep heal up soon for you. Looking forward to reading about the records you’ll be setting.
That was an insane 300 lb. squat. Insane, of course, in the best way.
Great squatt!!!
OK, I admit it…I’m jealous of your 300lb squat. But I’m old and crotchety and in a bad mood all the time and hate everybody anyway. So no offense.

That’s okay. When I watched the video of the woman pulling 400 raw I thought “Just fuck off okay”? She was really impressive and I hate her. I’m getting old and crotchety too
Yeah I’m jealous of your 300lb squat to…also tequila cures all known muscle injuries.
Just sayin…

That’s what I’ve been doing wrong. I’ve been trying to cure it with spiced rum and pills. Guess who’s making another trip to the liquor store today.
So I gave blood Thursday night. Did you know you can pretty much get dinner there now? I had the blood donor waiter guy give me chicken and rice soup with crackers juice and cookies. I also had bits and bites and fudgeos to go. It was like a nice evening out.

We were up early Saturday morning because my teenage daughter had a cheerleading competition. They won gold for the novice division and looked great. I had to laugh because her competition bag has pompons, make up and sparkly stuff. Mine doesn’t.
Great, and painful, looking zerchers. You really ground them out. Also, nice floor presses.
Do your daughters have any interest in what you do? Do they go to any of your meets?

My daughters used to cheerlead for peewee football some years ago. I went to every game and learned every cheer and did it with them at the fence. I was trying to ‘embarass’ them. Didn’t work. Turns out they got a huge kick out of it. The shit we parents will do, eh?

The zerchers were fun but hurt like hell. My body is a mess today. I still have scabs on the backs of my arms from benching last Tuesday. Today added suit marks from deadlift, bruises on my forearms from the zerchers and abrasions on my abs from the bar catching my belt on zerchers. I pretty much look like I’ve been beaten.
My younger daughter has an interest in lifting and she will play around with it from time to time. She likes to tell all her friends what I do. My older daughter is all about gymnastics, dance and cheerleading. That’s cool too. We all have different passions.

I had a lot of fun watching the competition. The fact that they can do the number of moves they do with such precision and the number of people on the team amazes me. She’s pretty serious about it. I spent a few days in the back yard spotting back handsprings.

Not sure if you remember him or not, but there was a guy at the Belle River meet last year, probably in the 100kgs (Junior) class. It was his first meet, he lifted raw with knee wraps and hit a very impressive 535lbs (I believe) squat. He keeps a log here under the name “Aster”, anyway he is (or was anyway last year) on the Queen’s University cheer team. He posted a video once, some pretty cool shit.
Glad to hear your daughter did so well. You hit the nail on the head, I don’t really care what my kids get into, I just hope that they develop a passion for something. For the girls right now it is looking like Irish dancing and gymnastics… although both have pulled a bodyweight deadlift…both are under 45lbs and they managed to pick up the bar.
Those Zerchers show how damn tough you are. If you want to wuss out like me, a fat bar for Zerchers feels heavenly. Even better, fat bar with knee sleeves over your elbows.

What a great idea. I never thought to put my knee sleeves on my arms. I was thinking I could go a lot heavier but the bar was killing my arms.

I think I remember him. Big blond guy? He may have been in St. Thomas too.
Someone tells me you had a pretty good meet in London. Like you
Your best meet to date. You must still be feeling pretty high.

Nah, Advil doesn’t give me a high feeling.
Yes, the meet went fantastic. I had PRs across the board, including a 20kgs squat PR and a 40kgs total PR. The 205kgs squat was really satisfying especially since it buried me last month in St. Thomas.
Thanks for the props.

That feeling right there is why I do it. I usually lasts a good week long for me. 40kg on your total is very significant. Just watch you don’t get tested soon
