Someone tells me you had a pretty good meet in London. Like you  Your best meet to date. You must still be feeling pretty high.
Nah, Advil doesn’t give me a high feeling. Yes, the meet went fantastic. I had PRs across the board, including a 20kgs squat PR and a 40kgs total PR. The 205kgs squat was really satisfying especially since it buried me last month in St. Thomas.

Thanks for the props.
That feeling right there is why I do it. I usually lasts a good week long for me. 40kg on your total is very significant. Just watch you don’t get tested soon :)
Haha, Art Chan was lifting there, what a freak. I missed his lifts, but I watched him warm-up. He was pissed off at his 401lbs bench… he’s a 67.5kg lifter. Apparently he went over 500 wilks in loose gear and barely training the past month. He said that at the Arnold, right after the deadlift, he went to the washroom and as he was coming out they grabbed him for a urine sample. It took him an hour and a half to pee again.

I forgot to give a big Thank you to O’Boile and Sensgurl for all their help on Saturday. It was much appreciated. And yes, Sensgurl, Boston Pizza is a very nice place to eat after a meet. Good choice.

J… nice training and awesome zercher video… bet you felt those for a few days

Rugger… seen your meet results, very nice, congrats buddy!

O’boile and Sens are good people, knowledgeable, kindhearted and really love the sport. Except when Sens is judging… I heard her nickname is “redlight”… lol

Crazy zerchers. You ever do any O-lifting? Or all powerlifting?

Ha, now my head is going to be twice as big!

Congrats again Rugger on a great contest!

This is one of the pictures I took of the suit. I’d really like it if it didn’t fit like a pair of flannel pyjamas. On the bright side, the colour rocks.

Training Tuesday May 18

Bench
45-10
70-3
90-3
100-3x3
110-2x2
120-1
110-2x3

I finally got my custom super centurian in the mail yesterday and could hardly wait to try it out. I picked it up and had to try it on right away. Disappointingly, it slid on easily. If you don’t use a squat suit, a competition fit, custom suit should take a shit ton of work to get on the first couple of times. Last summer I got a suit that took 90 minutes to get on the first time.

Squat
45-10
115-5
155-3
195-1
225-3 straps down
260-1 straps up
It sucks. I took a video of the 260 and I’m sure the legs are gaping. I’m getting very little from the suit. I’m sending it back for alterations.

Good mornings
135-5
155-5
175-3x5

db bench
32-10,10,10,9,9

So this is a sign you need to eat more right?

Pretty amazing that Titan did that crappy of a job customizing your suit.

It is pretty disappointing. It’s like getting up on Christmas morning to get a bunch of cool gifts only to discover they all need batteries and you have none.

Shit. Sorry to hear about the lump of coal you got for Christmas.

I am so in awe of this statement.

I’m enjoying reading your log. Thanks for gussying up this neighborhood of old, ugly guys (except for Harry of course).

that blows about the suit. have they given you a commit on turn around time to correct?

I called them this morning and they were very helpful. They told me how they arrived at the size I received so I gave them more ‘soft’ type info like the size I wear now etc. I also told them I’d be sending pictures. Apparently the starting size was based on a 34 since I have 39" hips. I told her I currently wear a 32 and want to go tighter. She recorded all the info on the file. She said they typically turn around alterations in 2 weeks but they may have to make an entirely new suit.

I like it tight as shit in the hips but loose in the straps. The 28 from last summer was tight in the hips but the straps were too short. I couldn’t 1/4 squat with 315. That’s what I’m aiming for with a custom. Hopefully when it’s good, they’ll keep the info on file.

Do you have the means to make modifications yourself, i.e. an industrial sewing machine?

I’m a bit anal about keeping the garage gym tidy and some grass had blown in when Frank cut the lawn. He stared at me and made a comment about being hard-core Amish. I realised I was sweeping the grass off the driveway wearing my squat suit straps down and my lever belt and pig tails between squat sets.

I am sooo slow - finally found you O, and that part made me laugh like hell

No. Even if I did, I’d be afraid I’d screw it up and end up with a squat suit that looks like my grandma crocheted it or something. I do my own straps by hand with upholstery thread and it’s worked really well.

I’d forgotten about that  I still clean the garage between sets. I really don’t like when things are untidy. It gives me anxiety. Seriously. Fortunately I live on a court with only 3 houses so there isn’t a lot of traffic seeing my oddball activities.
