I haven’t posted too much in these parts since last fall and let my last log in PW die out for a variety of reasons. However, I miss keeping a training log and thought I’d move it to the old(er) peoples section.

I will be entering my 8th meet this Saturday in the company of Ruggerlife. It’s just a small local open meet for a bit of fun since I skipped nationals last weekend due to the non-appearance of the cash fairy.

My last meet was Provincials the end of January. The attached picture is my final pull of 151.0 kg (332lbs). This weekend I hope to pull 160.0 (353). I’m looking to squat up to 140 (308) and bench 70 (155) so we’ll see what happens.

I haven’t really trained since last Thursday other than one day in my shirt on Sunday and some light stuff Tuesday night. Physical stuff has been primarily confined to putting up a bitch of a shed in the back yard to get the bikes and stuff out of the garage to make more room for the gym…
Pouring sugar ON you would be a waste. Putting sugar in the bowl is better.

HH obviously doesn’t rock and roll. It’s the devil’s music.

Maybe we will see a 500 in your future.

Thanks very much. I was pretty happy. 500 would be nice; if a bit ambitious. However, never say never, right? At my first meet, I thought a 300 total was a couple of years away. The first meet was 19 months ago.

Once I get my pink and black Centurian, there’s no holding me back because we all know, colour makes the difference.

your too sweet to need sugar.

I finally went to see my ART guy last night and I have a bulging disc in my lower back. However, the cause is unrelated to lifting. It is a result of having a desk job. He did some traction work on me. He tested the strength in my legs with my back tight like I would have it to lift and my strength was good. He did the same thing with my back and shoulders slightly rounded like you get from sitting at a desk for hours and I was weak as hell.

He isn’t concerned and should have it fixed shortly. I’d been having trouble for a while and have set my drafting table to work standing up which helps. When I’m sitting, I have to put a rolled towel on my chair to keep my back from rounding and consciously pull my shoulders back a bit. Pretty much like you’d sit or stand with good posture.

The good news is that I don’t have to stop lifting; just sitting. ha.

So Miss O, when did you turn 35?? Just recently?

Last fall…for the 10th time :)
Ya know, my wife must have went to the same school as you. That’s her type of math!!

I hope you don’t mind but I checked the CPU site.
You haven’t been lifting that long regardless of your chronological age, and I think that you can put 50kg’s on that total. The fact of the matter is your dead is ahead of your other lifts, so it is a matter of time. I hope you have the resources to make those gains. I think you are capable.

She’s also hiding a big squat that will eventually emerge to grab the spot light! (remember I called it here…)
As for the benches, those 2.5kgs PRs can add up!!!

I think I’ll hold you to that. What’s up for grabs if I don’t?

Hey you can’t bet against yourself! I will be surprised if you don’t get elite this year. After that the wilks is up to you. Whats up for grabs if I’m right?

BB

Quick question what is the CPU site?

Nice work being done in here, enjoying the thread!

The CPU is the Canadian Powerlifting Union. The link to the site is: http://www.powerlifting.ca/ .

Thanks very much for the compliment.

I’m pretty sure I’ll hit elite this year. What’s up for grabs? How about a trip to the shed?

On the subject of sheds and what not, we completed construction of our new shed. It only took two weeks in the evenings after work using the p.o.s. instructions that came with them. It turned out rather well and houses most of our non lifting related stuff like bikes and lawn mower etc.

If anyone is desperately searching for a way to test their relationship. Putting one of these together is a start. Turns out, we’re all good.

This was to create more room in the garage gym. Picture 1

This is a picture of our wall of gear. The peg board is getting a bit full. I’m still waiting for my pink and black custom centurian and my APT convict knee wraps.

Training Sunday April 25

Today was weak and barfy for a variety of reasons.

 1. I suck
 2. I’m still recovering from the meet
 3. I had my back adjusted on Friday for my bulging disc that left me in pain and I took handsfuls of a variety of codeine based pills on Saturday
 4. We went rock climbing for my daughters birthday which, by the way was a blast

I almost forgot to post my one picture of the meet from last weekend. This is when we were waiting for them to unlock the doors of the gym where the meet was. We found a way for Ruggerlife to warm up and make weight. I very kindly pulled this out of the dumpster for him.

haha!

I still think it would look great in your garage next to the rack.

However, I think I exhausted myself trying to pedal that damn thing.
