It’s encouraging to see you continuing to make gains with your bench and shirt tweaking (or lack thereof). That’s a lift I just cannot get down. And the gear hasn’t helped me to date.

The weight on your GMs is insane. 210?!! WTF.
I’m feeling really good about my bench right now. Because, like you, it is my weakest lift I’m surprised at how much it’s moving up. Some of it is pure strength but an awful lot is confidence in the shirt. The first while I used a shirt I wasn’t getting massive gains out of it but as I’m (slowly) learn it, I’m improving.
For example, the first meet I used a shirt, I barely ground out a 60kg (132lb) third attempt. That was a year and a half ago. Last nights 175lbs is a big jump from that. I didn’t really see much more than tiny incremental movement for quite a while.
We have a similar build and it will likely work the same for you once you have some time in it.
No offense, O. But I haven’t noticed large breasts on you.
Well, your growth in the bench gives me hope that once my shoulder is healed, I may be able to follow course. I’m never benched more than a titch more than bodyweight even in a shirt. So at best the shirt gives me a 10% gain. But I’m thinking that my shoulder has been compromised since I began powerlifting and has held me back.

Nice work. Your training is so inspiring.
Fine. I don’t have big boobs. Geez. I meant more like long arms.

I envy your long arms. If I had arms like yours I wouldn’t look so stupid in DLing vids.

Nice work in the shirt. That bench of yours is really starting to come along.
Thanks very much. We were just talking about you last night wondering what you were up to.
Not much (and I like it). Trained raw last week and this week. I’ll start back in gear on Friday for my deadlifts (Saturday will be 8 weeks out).
I dropped my registration in the mail yesterday for Oct. 30th, now I’m just finalizing my training cycle.
Nice! I’ll see you there. Toronto Rex will be renamed Toronto RAW for that contest. All our healthy ladies are going to be at the contest lifting raw for fun.

Great. FYI- If the location is where I think it is, there’s a Boston Pizza close by.

Yeah, I have long arms. A bitch to bench with but a blessing for DLing. And the breast comment was a joke. You probably have me beat by a lot.
Joe and I really need to see somebody about this testosterone issue. We are having SAMA thoughts right now.
Friday September 3
Squat
45-10
115-5
155-3
195-4x1 Frank said these looked odd like I had too much forward lean for some reason
235-3 straps down
255-2x3,5x2 straps down
I kept switching up my shoes from O shoes to converse and taping to see how they looked. I still had more forward lean than normal. I think I’m throwing my hips back too far rather than shooting my knees out. Knees out first seems to work better for me. I don’t know when I started going ass out first. It was a bit frustrating.
Breaking at the hips first is supposed to be proper form. Interesting that you find knees out first works better for you. Funny how form can just slip all of a sudden on a lift for no apparent reason. You’ll iron it out.

Early on squatting my form was more like squat mornings with a lot of knee caving. I’m not sure why I do better breaking first at the knees but it keeps me more up right. It’s almost like a plie. I break at the knees and try to drop straight down. When I break at the hips, I guess I revert to the pronounced forward lean. Maybe it has to do with having longer legs proportionate to my body. I’m sure I’ll get it worked out.
Deadlift
135-5
225-3
265-2
285-1
All previous sets straps down-no belt
305-3,3,2,3 straps down belt. The third set my pinky finger nail got caught on my knee sleeve and bent backwards. I had to reverse to pull it out. I took off the sleeves. I wanted to try them on deads because my knees have been oiking after deads.
Zerchers
These were easy today but I think the set up was high. We played around with it a bit. One pin down was too low to start at the bottom but where we settled seemed a touch higher than before.
135-5
225-5
255-5
275-4 belt on
295-2,1
This is the last single at 295 Zerchers - high start off pins - YouTube.
Edit: I just realised that it was easier because I’ve got the pins one hole higher than last time but the lower one felt too low because I’d added another sheet of 1/2" board in the rack to adjust for mine and Frank’s height disparity when we’re squatting. Next time I’ll try 295 off the lower pins.
Bar holds
365-18,9 (regular then reverse grip
285-14,10 "
405-7 regular grip only

How did you get rid of the knee cave, she asks self-interestedly…
I really just focused on pushing my knees out. It was a lot of time just working on that. It helps that I have my own stuff at home. I’d do sets in between cutting my grass

There is no substitute for time and sustained attention to the issue. Gotcha.
I’m glad I’m not the only one with nail issues on deadlifts. A few weeks ago I caught my thumbnail on something on the way up.
Nice zerchers. I just can’t figure out how you can lift that much weight and make it look like nothing. Nothing. And don’t you just have the cutest figure!
