Pour Some Sugar on Me

You smashed that, Good Job! I like the Pink suit and the Zebra stripped knee wraps. Got to show my Woman so she can get a set, lol.[/quote]

The wraps are APT convicts. They are thick and really stiff. I’d been waiting a couple of months to get them. I’d been wanting to get them after reading about them in the powerlifting section about wraps and stuff. I haven’t had them really cranked yet.

Friday June 25

Squat
45-10
115-5
155-3
195-1
225-3 suit on straps down/no wraps
245-3 "
275-3x3 "
305-1 straps up/wraps. I shortened the straps but they need a lot more shortening.

Bench
75-8x3 speed

Push press
65-5
85-8,8,4

one arm db rows
32-20
37-20
42-12

I’m gassed. I need to shorten the straps a bit more. I’ll try pulling in the new suit on Sunday. Last night I was reading the IPF rules regarding altering a suit. I think I’ll play around with tightening it in a couple of places. I may try on my old suit first. I can do it by hand and take a tuck in the hips and a nip on the legs to keep them down. Alterations just have to be done on an existing seam and can’t be folded over and resewn to the fabric. The more I become familiar with gear, the more I know what works for me and the types if alterations that will likely work for me. I use upholstery thread that has some incredible tensile strength. Sometimes it pays to have hand sewing skills.

With the IPF id be real careful there.

They are pretty specific. They list dimensions of reinforcing fabric and whatnot. They say in the rules that you can alter it on an existing seam. They prefer the straps to be shortened on the inside rather than the outside since they create ‘unsightly tufts’. Funny, I’d always seen them shortened on the outside. Rules are specific on the length of legs.

They have more rules governing the altering of bench shirts particularly as it governs the collar in the front. I won’t be bothering with that quite yet since I’m still working on getting my unaltered shirts to work well for me.

Nice training. IPF is so anal.

Yeah, there’s rules about that too. Astroglide is considered multiply. Don’t even ask what the hardcore RAW guys do.

O! lol.

I couldn’t sew to save my life. Glad you can recruit cheap labor

Be nice.

Sunday June 27

deadlift (first time in new suit - I shortened the straps more and the length is about right)
135-5
185-3
235-3
275-2 belt on
305 - 1 straps up
335-1 "
360 - almost 1. It was all back and I didn’t sit back into it.

It was soooo close but I couldn’t lock it out. I’m still pretty happy considering the amount of heavy squatting I kicked my ass with this week. This weight is 1.5 kg less than what I tried to get for a third at my last meet or 3.5 kg more than my last PR of 353.

Snatch grip deads -hands outside the rings
135-9
155-10 change to hook grip
165-12

JM presses
bar-10
65-12,10

Russian sit ups - These killed my hips after all the pulling
bw-6
8lb db - 12
17lb db- 2 sets of /side

I also played around with my old suit tightening it up. I took the hips in about an inch all told. It made a huge difference to how it sits. The straps are tighter. It’s like a size smaller. It will be good for training to I don’t over use the new one.

^^ good job.But alot of fight in the last one.

Great work! That 360 was sooooooo close. No doubt it will go very, very soon. Lighten the previous squat load and it likely would have gone.
Also, I love the way you never seem to give up on a lift. I have, in the few videos I have seen, watched you do reps when I would have sworn there were no more to be had or that the rep was stalled. Definitely an inspiring drive!

you are so redonkulous! nice work with the new suit Jules.
I put my old one on today and first rep dumped the bar over my head. The floor is still imprinted on my knee. I don’t understand how you deal with tight gear! But damn I wish I could.

I hope you’re okay. I’ve done that myself and it’s pretty scary.

I deal with the tight gear because it’s been kind of gradual. I’m glad I discovered that I can make my own alterations. That’ll let me make incremental changes at my own speed.

Mostly I deal with it because I want to win… a lot.

that fight was so close O! - how’s your back today? Those fighting lifts tends to leave some pain in my back and shoulders.

My upper back is smokin’ but it’s more from the snatch grip deads we did afterwards.

Your humor is right up my alley.

Let’s see: you are the raconteuse to Harry’s raconteur; you lift with the intensity of marauder meat; you’re punny in pink.

You, Ma’am, are awesome!

I love your new squat suit and want one of my own. A pink one. Maybe when I make my comeback I’ll treat myself.

Regarding alterations, my coach had his wife alter a used suit I had. The straps ripped out on the first squat rep. Scared the shit out of me. I just bottomed out. Luckily I have that flexibility! She re-altered but I’ve been hesitant to try it. Bottom line is that I no longer trust the suit with all of its re-stitching and have been squatting and DLing in a thrice-used DL suit.

Of course you want to win that much. That’s why you do.

I’ve actually squatted and deadlifted many times in the suit that has the straps sewn up. I’ve hung off the straps getting it seated etc. I’d be kind of hesitant too if mine ripped out but so far it’s been like steel.

That was a hell of an effort on that last lift and good lifting through the whole thing.

Tuesday June 29

Bench
45-10
65-3
85-3
100-3x3
110-2x2
120-1
110-2x3
Okay but nothing to write home about. I used my cheap bar which is a bit thicker and a couple of lbs heavier. My good bar is a texas power bar and it’s funny how particular I’ve become about the bars I use. The good one was still set up on the floor from deads on Sunday and I was too lazy too change up. Also, I was training alone so I didn’t push the reps because, although I’ve been pinned many times before, I just wasn’t into it tonight.

Power cleans
I haven’t done these in about 9 months so I decided two days after a max pull and snatch grip deads was a good time to pull them out of the closet.
95-3
105-4x3
Hard.

Front squat
115-5x5

DB bench
37-10,9,7,6,5

OH squat
bar-5
65-5
85-4
I haven’t done these in ages either and I was alone so I was getting up to trouble. I couldn’t do 5 at 85. I just couldn’t keep it steady over head.

I’m still alone so maybe I’ll take a few appliances apart to see what makes them work and stuff.
