This is my first post on here. Hopefully it will be the first of many. I am new to the forum and have been reading avidly over the past few weeks. Using the information I have come up with the following diet plan. My main goal is to lose 42lbs by August 2008.
Breakfast - 3 eggs omelette with spinach
1 bowl oatmeal
Protein shake
Snack 1 - Apple and 50g cheese
Lunch - Tuna and spinach
1/2 pot cottage cheese
Snack 2 - 30g mixed nuts
Dinner - Chicken with veg and spinach
Pre-gym - 1/2 protein and carb shake
Post-gym - 1/2 protein and carb shake
Im combining the above diet with a progressive resistance program and interval cardio training on off days.
I would be really interested to hear your comments on my plan. Also I would really like some advice about what to eat at lunch. Im very busy at work during the day and only really get 30 mins for a break. I would like to know what sort of food you guys prepare for lunch when your on the move. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Looks like a decent breakdown. Personally, I normally go with chicken and brocolli for lunch, with half a tablespoon of olive oil drizzled over it. I’ve found it works best to just put everything together the night before, cook the chicken and then let it and the brocolli soak in the olive oil overnight, then zap it in the microwave for lunch. Takes 1-2 minutes, and you have a hot lunch.
You can spice it up by adding garlic powder, or some pepper, or some other no cal spices. Poke around here on the site, Shugs and Berardi have posted some good meals, and most of them can be prepared ahead of time.
Mines pretty much the same. I either take a big spinach salad or a bag of brocolli and have either ground turkey or chicken with it. Tomorrow, I’m having ground turkey mixed with brocolli with a little bit of pasta sauce. I usually keep 3 turkey burgers cooked in the refrigerator too, for when I get strapped for time.
I made the beer can chicken last Sunday and it was the most delicious thing I’ve had in a long time. I rubbed it with crushed pepper, some salt, and garlic powder. Its the perfect thing to make Sunday afternoon and then you have leftovers for a couple days.
breakfast- tons of hash browns, eggs, ground beef and cheese all wraped up in a tortilla shell, (breakfast burritos are my favorite) along with a tall glass of milk
lunch- usualy consists of a chicken wrap, or tuna sandwich, mabey a roast beef sandwich.
after luch- ussualy some more chicken or beef sometimes i smash hard boiled eggs and make an egg salad sandwich, and a protein shake for the gym.
and dinner- meh whatever is in the fridge, steak, hamburger helper, mabey a hamburger, along with, yup milk.
2 cans tuna with alot of cucumber, onions, spinach, 2 tbsp sunflower oil, and other spices. Fuckin love this lunch but it makes you smell like fish the rest of the day.
