I thought everyone saw Titanic.
Seriously though, the villagers thought that Belleās father was abducted and kept, then all they knew was that a beast was holding Belle, based on eye witness account of her father.
There was no other choice, but to attack the beast.
Tell me Iām wrong.
If there is no other choice, there is no choice. I never saw the Disney version because Iām heterosexual so my frame of reference is the first film version. I read the plot to the Disney version and the only reason the villagers believed Belle and her father were prisoners was because Gaston lied. He also fights dirty.
Two food trends that I donāt understand:
First, smashburgers. I understand more surface area gets browned, but in exchange you get a wafer-thin, dry sliver of meat. Weāve had a handful of burger joints featuring smashburgers open up locally, one even opening up multiple shops.
Secondly, rolled ice cream. For the unenlightened, this is where a server takes unfrozen ice cream mix, finely chops in some mix-ins, and then spreads in thinly on a freezing tablet. When it congeals they scrape it off into little rolls and place them neatly into a flat-bottom bowl. It tastes fine, and is insanely cold (like dipping dots), but the labor-intensive process can make the wait times unreasonable for a stupid fucking bowl of ice cream. One neighborhood shop in a super-prime location has already closed down.
I never quite got the thing with these, or why its a thing. If done right, its just a really good burger. I do the same thing with very lean ground beef. Hot fast sear, flip- hot fast sear. But to me its just a hamburger, with what ever extras i feel like.
I know that for anything good, execution is important, and thats not gonna happen en mass.
Never had rolled icecream though. I think food trends ruin good concepts with bad execution.
product of social media food culture.
optimising for looks > optimising for taste
I see it like chipped ham. More surface area = more flavor.
This is completely made up though, and based in part from the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer got a deli slicer.
I think USA is at a point where more criminals should be put to death instead of prison.
Are you aware of the racial ramifications of your āhot takeā?
Key Statistics:
- Percent of Black Americans in the general U.S. population: 13% +
- Percent of people in prison or jail who are Black: 37% +
- Prison incarceration rate for Native people vs nation as a whole: 763 vs. 350 per 100,000
- Percent of people serving life, life without parole, or āvirtual lifeā sentences who are Black: 48% +
- Arrest rate for Black vs white Americans: 6,109 vs. 2,795 per 100,000 +
- Number of arrests of Black Americans in 2018: 2.8 million +
- Percent of people on probation or parole who are Black: 30% +
Why are you bringing up race?
You were very swift with those statistics though, impressive. I guess you hang on to them for any special occasions.
I rarely do, if ever. You, howeverā¦
Just wondering if you know how contradictory you are being.
I googled āwhat percentage of African Americans are in prisonsā. Not that hard.
add: I was just flabbergasted that someone who is quick to jump on the āyouāre racistā bandwagon had such a contradictory hot take.
And while I did not have any specific stats at hand, the general observation is very well known, not special at all.
Sorry, I have no idea what youāre yammering aboutā¦so Iāll excuse myself now.
Hot take -young people need to get off Tik Tok, and try to actually educate themselves.
Given what heās shared about his brother, he might want to rethink his position.
My brother is not a menace to society ![]()
He is somewhat of a menace to me for lying and stealing from me. In addition to the money he stole still owes me $500.
I gave up on all of that mess, itās too exhausting to deal with.
This is only the beginning.
