Seeing your guys’ opinions on some good posing music.
Backstreet Boys/NSYNC/Britney Spears
Hmmmmm let me think. How about Maniac, What a Feeling, Billy Jean, Footloose, I Need a Hero, Thank you very much O Mr. Roboto, Danger Zone, Jump for my Love, My Heart Will Go On, Elton John. LOL just kidding about all these.
rookie: HA! If those are indeed your real choices - you’ve got balls to admit that. Anywhoos - I always pick music that has a strong central beat and a underlying beat that I can play with. Oh and just so you know, I’m usually the “best poser” in my shows. And I always pick music that is NOT being played to the hilt on the radio. Movie soundtracks are good to look at for choices. I mean, how many times do we need to hear ACDC or Metallica at shows?
Actually, I usually pose to Polka music
But I assure, I have balls anyway, and agree that the music should be as original as possible.
Choose something that fits your personality, but please, do the world favor and stay away from the AC/DC. If i see one more guy with a mullet pose to Back in Black I may just lose it.
I posed with rocky music, classical and anything slow and sensual Thats the way my physique is. Pose to what you think your physique looks like and how would you want to present your physique.
Ok, I was looking for specific songs, but whatever
I’ve heard “Higher” by Creed about a thousand times at shows. Two of the most memorable were a kid in the juniors who posed to the Jurassic Park soundtrack and opened his mouth wide and lipsynced along to all the dinosaur growls everytime he hit a pose. Even better, though, was some guy in the Master’s class who was about 6’5". He busted a move to “I Got the Feeling” by James Brown. It would have been funny enough that this old dude was dancing around to James Brown, but the fact that he was massive and only wearing a pair of posing trunks made it even more unique.
I’m afraid I have to say that it’s my fault that Ko has to go through the utter hell of watching yet another competitor pose (and stiffly so) to ACDC. sorry. But let me say, I don’t choose music due to the song itself. But rather to how it makes me feel. I liken myself to being rather quirky, happy go-lucky type -so I pick music that reflects that. I’m thinking of going with something for my next show with a more spicy, far-Eastern flavor. Hmmmmmm.
Anything by Yoko Ono would definately make you stand out.
some chopin, maybe some liszt…yesssssss diminished seventh
Well,. I couldn’t use it (not 250 and ripped yet!),… but the Imperial March (Darth Vadars theme) from star wars!
Seriously (I hope that’s okay), Firestarter by Prodigy is the best posing song I know. It was really popular in the Toronto area about three years ago, but I haven’t heard of anyone else posing to it much since. Patricia was dead on with having a song with a distinctive beat. Firestarter has a very distinctive down beat and if you’re quick, and can hit your poses every two or three beats, the effect is impressive.
If you want something graceful, I always thought Dido’s “Here With Me” would be a great song. I saw someone do her figure skating routine with it and it fit nicely. If I ever get the courage to get onstage, that would be my pick.
Creed’s “My Sacrifice” would be great if 7 out of 10 guys in your show weren’t already using it.
How about this question: songs you never want to hear AGAIN at a BB show? Y’all know my answer…One more thing to stew on here: Since I compete in the Open Women (Middleweights), I know that I will be on relatively later in the show - after Novice, Open Men, Figure/Fitness and whatever else - couples? Anyways, I never choose a nice slow ballad due to this. By then, the audience could be bored, tired and ready to go get something to eat. I’d rather wake them up then hear them “zzzzzz” out there. So be aware of when you’re doing your routine, also.
Linkin Park my friend. Anything from Hybrid Theory!!!
