I’m probably more jaded about advertising than most but all I see there is a lean person, likely someone who has always been lean. I don’t want to take Hot-Rox because a lean person is on the advertisement, I want to take it because a not-lean person took the product and became a lean person. It’s likely harder to advertise that but distinct (even small) improvements in a subject who actually took the product would sell it better for me.
In all honesty I don’t believe thermogenic products are all they are cracked up to be for fat loss. I think majority get enough caffeine/stimulants in their products to get people a stimulant buzz then they think its working (same goes for majority of pre-workouts). If I were not to change my diet and exercise, I doubt I would see much, if any, in weight loss. If I were to change my diet and exercise in order to lose weight I would lose weight due to the changes but believe only a very small amount would be because of a thermogenic. Yes the stimulation from stimulants could help me work harder in my exercise, which could result in more weight loss but I could get the same thing from more coffee or caffeine pills (more bang for my buck).
I see what you’re saying but I believe it’s the combination of ingredients in Hot-Rox that makes it unique. I have used Hot-Rox many times in the past and I can tell you that it has always helped me lose the fat in stubborn areas when my diet and training alone wasn’t cutting it… it’s the icing on the cake for me when I have everything else in place but want to push it to the next level.
I don’t think caffeine pills or coffee could mimic these results.
Awesome suggestion, and one we’ve considered.
Would you view that ad as a “paid endorsement”?
Would actual-user endorsements be the most convincing for you?
Isn’t that categorical statement being a little myopic?
Don’t you believe there are a least a few excellent fat burners and workout formulas on the market?
A little late to the game here but I’m glad I got a chance to look at the advertisements on three different platforms. It actually gave me a different appreciation for the images.
On my iPhone, my favorites were “A” and “B”. “A” because it was implying movement that was going to be engaged on and I love movement. “B” because it’s relatable. (and yes, B is definitely a dude because of the hairy chin! But it is not as apparent on the iPhone immediately as it is on my pad or my laptop.)
On my iPad and computer the screen is brighter and the appeal of “C” & “F” rise considerably. “F” is appealing because it is motion and I can see it is a cross lateral strike with a forearm block and I can relate to that coming from a striking combat arts background. But on the iPhone, it is not as apparent the action as a contrast is not as good as on the larger screen. So it is not as appealing. That being said, “F” is my favorite at this point of the male example.
A general picture of someone who may or may not use the product does not give me any encouragement to buy.
If you put a picture of Thor on it, I would be more likely to read it, but if Thor said he used it to get ready for the fight with Eddie, I would be more likely to buy it.
Yup. Same here.
Myopic? Maybe…more cynical to me.
There very well could be excellent fat burners out there and this very well could be one. Can’t say, as I haven’t tried this one or used one that I felt truly did anything remarkable.
Sorry to be a cynic but been burned too many times and wasted too much money.
I will definitely vouch for HOT-ROX! I have been taking this since the beginning of time! Like when the ad was in an actual magazine and people didn’t have the internet at their fingertips. So over that amount of time I have been able to keep my weight within 15lbs of itself. I am 41 now, and as my body has changed over the years I still get to enjoy not working that hard to maintain the weight because I truly believe in the product and I know it works for me.
Fact: while the supply shortage was screwing up my life and I tried other fat burners and coffee… I gained 10lbs! As soon as this came back on the market I bought as many as I could afford. 8lb are now missing. I love it.
I voted for option “E” but would actually rather see a male version of that body type. That seems more achievable with the product than the others. Especially if your not a full on body builder…
I suspect, with the amount of free bottles being given out, we’re going to find this out soon.
On that note, i just received mine. That was fast - I’m stunned. And thrilled by the recent management engagement.
Mines a week or so away, so i’m stabilising my diet now, ready to give it a fair test.
100% agreed. And not just because of the free stuff.
We’re giving out free bottles because we’re confident in our product and excited to see consumers experience the effects.
I just miss MD6, that stuff was awesome.
Does this product work for all “types of bodies”? I mean, would an obese person notice effects or are they not noticeable unless you get to the point where you’re just trying to lose the last 10lbs or something?
I know no supplement or medicine that works precisely the same for everyone. However, most preparations – including the Hot-Rox formula – have minimal variance among most users.
Noticing and getting are different. Most people attempting to lose a lot of body fat have difficulty noticing their bodies changing (fat-loss) early in the process. That can be very demotivating and often why people give up trying to lean out.
I know muscular male lifters who appeared to be losing muscle (they weren’t) while dieting – they looked smaller and just as overfat. Then at some point, usually after losing about 20 pounds of fat, they started showing leanness.
Perceptions of reality can drift.
Successful fat loss is about sticking with an effective plan.
Follow These 4 Steps for Successful Fat Loss:
- Find an effective strategy.
- Trust the plan.
- Record measurements.
- Be diligent with all the steps.
I’m late to the party, but none of the options motivate me to dig deeper. OTOH, I’ve used Hot-Rox before and was quite happy with it.
I guess it’s a question of who is your target market? T Nation members know the Biotest supplements already. Why market to them? If you want new customers I think you’ll need a different approach.
Maybe you can market it as “fine tuning your fitness pride.” Or fine tuning your Tinder photo. Take pride in finding your last abs with Hot-Rox.
This is at the very start of the topic:
We aren’t asking for anyone’s opinion about how “the market” might feel toward the ads. We ONLY want to know how YOU feel personally about the ads. All anyone can tell us – with 100-percent accuracy – is his or her PERSONAL feelings about any concept. And THAT is pure gold to us and very much appreciated.
So, what tagline or image would make YOU interested in learning more?
