Other Fat Burners on the Market?

As a precursor to this question, I know this website is run by Biotest and I am extremely grateful for all the information it provides and all the products of Biotest’s I have purchased over the years since I was introduced to T-Nation. I would still be skinny-fat following the latest men’s health exercise programme promising me to “Get ripped abs in 6 days” if it hadn’t been for T-Nation.

That being said, do people have any views outside of HOT-ROX on the fat-burners on the market? I understand that a lot of body-building sites are just fronts for supplement companies to ply their wares (usually they are more deceptive about it than Biotest, so it’s difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff), but it seems odd that HOT-ROX doesn’t appear on any “best 5/10 fat burners on the market” lists and is barely ever reviewed on external websites.

Comments and thoughts welcome…

I’ve tried a LOT of fat burners. Very few are as good as HRX.

I’d say the reason you don’t see much outside coverage of HRX (or any other Biotest product) is because Biotest isn’t paying anyone to lick their balls. EAS, BSN, etc. all invest millions so magazines and websites will pimp their products.

At the risk of sounding like a Biotest disciple - Which I’m certainly not, my cupboard is full of dozens of different companies - Biotest is successful because their products are great and when people find great products, they tell other people about it.

Biotest doesn’t need to use Jay Cutler or Ronnie Coleman to sell me shit. Their track record is enough.

Sorry for the tangent.

But back to the topic at hand, I really liked VPX Meltdown.

To which lists and sites are you referring?

All that I’ve seen are just sales tools for companies to sell products.

None specifically. Just type in “best fat burner supplements” into Google and you get quite a few bodybuilding websites, each with their own list. I accept fully both your and esk221’s points - it was the conclusion I was drawing myself.

Esk221 - would you say you preferred VPX Meltdown to HRX? What were your results like on it and how much of that do you put down to the drug itself (was your diet/exercise programme relatively similar on both supplements)?

I eat clean and train hard, so I never really notice the aesthetic effects of these supplements. I will say however that HRX and Meltdwn are the only thermos that I can “feel”.

Now, it has been awhile since I have looked at fat-burners (3-4 years) but I remember back then that most of the other products on the market were thinly veiled caffeine and diuretic pills. They might have some other ingredients thrown in to curb hunger.

HOT-ROX stood out as being unique in its multi-faceted approach to fat burning without the use of excessive caffeine (yes it has some) or diuretics (none). The recent addition of Carbolin 19 to the formula makes it all the more special.

I tried Syntrax Guggulbolic once. Really felt that working i.e. after ~40 mins my ears would be red and I would get uncomfortably hot.
And all it contains is guggul extract.

Ive taken Recreate by USP labs. It definitely helps burn fat and also helps with cravings. I found the energy boost that it supplied to be damn good, especially on low carb days.

Completely agree. Last time I took a peak around just for kicks, I couldn’t find anything remotely innovative.

x2

There’s so many out there, I’ve read good things about Lean System 7, and of course HOT-ROX.

I’m currently trying HydroxyCut Hardcore. I really don’t know if it works, though I’ve lost weight fast on the cutting diet I’ve been on for a week and a half and I seem to get a little warmer after I take them.

I’m just too old to accept someone’s word for it, I’ll probably try about 4-5 different brands over the next couple of years.

No specific brands, but high quality EC stack and green tea extracts work really well for me

Not to drag this conversation out much further, but what do people/anyone from Biotest think about this review and the “Top 5” list below it?

iSatori’s MX-LS7 works great too. I’ve used it several times in the last few years with great results.

That review is so riddled with inaccuracies, it’s ridiculous, and a man in my position can’t afford to be made to look ridiculous. (Movie reference, anyone?)

They say:
Its ingredient list includes several supplements of chemicals already found in the body, but no patented fat burner.
Right… because yohimbine, caffeine, and raspberry ketones are found in the body?!?

They say:
It does not contain an appetite suppressant
For me, personally, it curbs my appetite like nothing else. Just because it doesn’t contain garcinia cambogia or another trendy appetite suppressant doesn’t mean it won’t have that effect.

They say:
and its strongest thermogenic ingredient is caffeine.
Wrong, and a check of the label would’ve clarified that. Caffeine may be the strongest stimulant in the formula, but for many people, that’s a good thing.

They say:
We don??t think that HOT-ROX works.
This makes it obvious that no one there actually tried it for a full run. HRX works on me, works on clients I’ve recommended it to, and works with tons of people here on the forum.

They say:
We don??t think there is a difference between it and Fahrenheit
That’s flat out wrong. Fahrenheit and HOT-ROX Extreme are different formulas. And again, taking three seconds to check their labels would clear that up.

That page also says:
All of the reviews have been written by our staff (avid dieters ourselves)
What the hell is an “avid dieter,” someone who enjoys dieting on a regular basis? Sounds like they haven’t quite figured out what works, good thing they spend time “researching” fat burners then.

And by the way, try not to notice that the websites of their “top 5 choices” all have an incredibly similar layout, font, and feel. Yep, they’re completely unbiased and not affiliated with those products at all, for sure.

I’ve never tried HOT-ROX so I cannot be accused of being biased. The review was poorly written and begged the question: “we don’t think it works.” Why does their “we don’t think it works” trump Biotests “we think it works?”

I’m sure there is something a little more substantial on the internet.

Actually, the review and others like it are usually fronts to sell other products. They make it appear as an unbiased, unaffiliated site just to suck the uneducated in.

As I thought. No one seems to have tried the products they’ve recommended though. I guess it’s better to stick with the tried and tested. I’ve used HRX Extreme before with decent results. I’ve just been wondering whether I’ve been living in Plato’s Biotest cave.

I’m happy to stay with that as no one’s made any “This is way better than Biotest” statements really.

HRX is outstanding.

Too many people here saying its amazing to look anywhere else.

I’m different about the whole “appetite suppressant” thing though…HRX makes me STARVING!

Depending on the individual there can be an appetite suppressant effect as the most common result; appetite stimulating effect as an occasional result; or no net effect on appetite.

The A7-E is appetite-suppressive for most and I think not appetite-stimulatory for any.

Forskolin, and the improved-biovailability, improved-duration-of-action forskolin carbonate used in HRX, is generally reported to decrease appetite but some people have their appetites stimulated by it.

So if an individual is a low-or-no responder to the appetite-suppressive effects of A7-E and is an opposite-of-usual responder to the effects of forskolin, then the net effect can be appetite stimulating.

Fortunately for most that is not the case; for those where it is the case, a low-carb diet may solve it.
