Not directly, but i believe the facial skin-folds are used to determine “over training”, im sure the umbilical fold would also correlate to adrenal dysfunction as well

Tork - good luck with the job hunt. I would be interested in training with you when I pass through Calgary (I don’t have any trips planned currently, but I get there a few times a year) - let me know how to get in touch.

Thanks! I also had a phone interview with an amazing place in BC, all things being equal I would prefer to stay in Calgary, but it would be awesome to get a position there! Should know if I get called in for an in-person meeting in 2 weeks or so.

Just add me on Facebook (Dustin Oranchuk), and we can chat from there, im also on linkedin.

Hey guys,

I know that organic meat is usually advised, although theirs no way in hell i could afford it haha.

Is there any evidence that you can think of that shows that most of the chemicals in meats are stored in the fat?

If so i would imagine that simply taking the skin off of the poultry and getting beef as lean as possible would be the next best step before paying the high cost of organic.

Hey Tork:
If you cant afford it try shopping around or even online as weird as that sounds. A lot of people say “but buffalo is so expensive” but they are only shopping at whole foods and yes, in which case, its high price. But other places I can find it for the same price as beef.

THere is evidence that the plastic the meat is wrapped in causes an effect but most of the toxin is actually stored in the fat of the animal. So if you bought beef, cut the fat off etc. I usually dont care about this when I eat out but I do with home food.

But trying to get as close to clean is also possible. I dont know what your dating or friend situation is but maybe try to go in on some food with another person. Its easier $$ when I split things with my GF.

where do you suggest online to buy meat?

thanks for the reply’s guys

This training cycle has NOT gone as planned. It was going great, but once I lost my job its been really hard, having no training partners, being crazy stresses and working 2 jobs and interning at another place has left my sleep and diet in a bad way.

However, im certainly not any weaker then I was at the beginning and im down about 3 lbs from the start, still depressing, but not tooo bad considering everything.

Will test my 1rms on Sunday. I still think the 500 deadlift is do able, but im bringing the goals for the squat and military press down from 405 and 200 to 395 and 195.

StevenF: Youd have to look around online. Just google “organic meat” and maybe your city or a large city close to you. I use novyranches.com
I am not sure if they ship out of state or country though. Being in So. Cal I have access to a lot of local grown stuff.

Tork: Glad to see your “weak numbers” are my goals

Tested my 1RMs today,

Hit everything I wanted from my revised goals, im 100% sure I would have hit my original goals if the last 6 weeks hadn’t been the most stressful of my life (so far), but such is life.

Im still proud of what I have done

P.S.

Starting this week I will be doing a program designed my Andre Benoit. It will be a version of 6/12/25.

Monday: Arms

Wednesday: Legs #1

Friday: Chest/Back

Sunday: Legs #2

Time to get back to focusing on my long term goal of 10% body fat @ 200lbs

I think ill see some pretty good results as its a complete shift in training from what I have done from the last 10 weeks.

I just went over to strength Sensei and see their website is up and running.

So who is running CharlesPoliquin’s site ?

There recommendations for the supplements are quite a bit lower then the ones that they used to post. This is probably a good thing as they seem to line up better with the scientific research and not with just trying to sell more supplements.

I was at the Olympic Oval, but lost that job, now I work at André’s in Airdrie and at another smaller place in Calgary.

Im also doing an internship at Canada Olympic Park/Winsport in hopes of getting work there.

Andre is really just starting out and doesn’t have too many client yet, I just fill in for him when he’s gone doing seminars. I also get some education from him.

Yeah, makes sense. He’s a great guy to learn from though.

I’ll be in Calgary in the fall. I hear the training market is doing well.

ya the market is alright. Personal training general population, and doing the personal training hours really isnt my thing though. I would love it if it wernt for the split shifts and the financial insecurity.

Im planning on going back to school to get my teaching degree.

going to write myself a 10 week program for increasing my 10rm for Neutral Chin-ups, Dips and Squat,

Should be a good challenge and should see some good hypertrophy im thinking!

Just finishing up 6-12-25 from Andre and will go in to a 1 month intensification program before doing the 10rm program

if anyone has any questions for Andre Benoit, just post them here and ill see if I can get them answered

Anyone know about getting a temporary (~2 month) work visa to the USA?

I have an opportunity to work for Ben Prentiss for a few months

That’s f-ing awesome!! You must be stacking knowledge up! I have no idea but Ben should know.
