I think my worst sites are Hamstring and Tricep imo. The tricep has been as low as 8.9 before, still very good, but def better then it is now. I think my sleep has been poor the last several weeks so that might have done it.
Fuck me, I went through all of my supps to see if there might be something that was making it harder to get the triceps and lower body skin-folds to get smaller.
I found that one supplement has a lot licorice in it. This was a product recommended to me by a naturo-path do help with my adrenal fatigue a while ago and i just kept taking it since it was fairly cheep and seemed to help a lot.
I did a bit of quick research and found that licorice can have a very strong estrogen-like effect AND lower T in men. i stopped taking it (wont even finish the bottle), hopefully that helps. ill feel both relieved and ridiculously frustrated if that was the reason why loosing fat from my triceps and legs has been pretty much impossible.
Ya my pincher is the same guy every time and hes been really good about “pumping” out supplements. he knows i was just finishing up school and still just starting out and thus cant afford much. the only things i buy from him regularly are HCL, uber-mag Plus, and Zinc. I also bought the “Poliquin Principles” through him (which is great BTW).
Im also on a Multi (6 caps/day) fish oil (6g/day), and a digestive enzyme (all of which i get for free from a company doing long term studies on the health benefits of these supplements). in exchange for the supps i give my blood for testing every 6 months. there have been some good improvements for sure. (I have lots of values if your interested. (they dont do Test or Estrogens, but they do have all sorts of blood lipids, DHEAs, inflammation markers, fasting insulin, food alergier (the most common), heavy metals etc…)

Damn, it may be just his pinching. How long has he been doing it? Ok hes talking about supps but what about diet? Is he programming that. Supplements are additions, food is foundational. Unless you go chemical. That seems like some pretty basic stuff but it seems like something is amiss. Could you post your pinch sites so I can see em?
here are my latest Skin-folds, I weighed in at 202

You’re calf is #1 priority… Don’t know what your BioSig guy is telling you (#2 is hamstring, and #3 is quad).
I’d look at the health of your liver and gut (check for gut dysbiosis). Makes it harder to absorb zinc and mag (thus levels stay relatively low) and they produce toxins which stress the liver and make estrogen detox more difficult.

What does the calf represent, as far as hormones or imbalances ? Do tell please.

I believe poor sleep habits… i.e. going to sleep/waking up late. I personally can attest to this. Genetically good calves but also excessive fat compared to other parts of my body, and my sleep habits have been retarded lately.

really liking IF so far. Been 12 days and each day i have fasted between 16 and 18 hours depending on my schedule. My workouts have NOT suffered at all and i get sooo much more stuff done in the mornings.
The real test will be how it effects my results. i feel pretty much the same as far as body comp, maybe a bit leaner, but nothing too dramatic. I have maintained my weight pretty well, only down 1lb in the last 2 weeks so thats perfect as i wanted to test its re-comping abilities on my body.
something interesting that I have noticed is that finally on the day after my carb-ups, i look great. much more muscular and abs start popping a bit. never got that before with my carb-ups. eaither im getting lean enough to see it, or the carbs are being stored much more efficiently in my muscles. Maybe there is something to this insulin sensitivity thing with IF.

Does anyone know if it’s true that excessive caffeine consumption can lead to insulin resistance (or problems with insulin sensitivity) ?
That has been kicked around a bit, though I have yet to see anything convincing.
Of interest is the new speculation that excess caffeine increases estrogen, due to caffeine and estrogen competing for the same detoxification pathway in the liver.

Its an interesting topic imo,
I have read that Caffeine can decrease insulin sensitivity, but there are also lots of sources that say that Coffee and Tea improve insulin sensitivity.
My uneducated guess would be that Caffeine itself is bad, but that things like Tea and Coffee have nutrients in them that offset the actual Caffeine.

I am not thinking of coffee or tea, since they have anti-oxidants within them, but caffeine alone.

Calf is related to IGF-1 the active form of growth hormone.
Poor sleep does mean less GH, therefore less IGF-1.
A good lactic acid workout will increase GH and therefore IGF-1.
GH is converted to IGF-1 in the liver, therefore poor liver health and/or toxicity can impair this conversion.
