Plucky Scares the Frat Boys

Awesome work here Plucky!

LOL you’re too cute. Personally, I like to “shake mah booty on da flo” at the gym. Might as well, everyone’s looking at the only female playing with big boy weights anyway.

I love your outfit and log, both are very adorable.
I have a regular notebook, I can be so tomboy-ish at times.
Okay, next workout journal is going to have the Bratz on them

cute outfit Plucky - and don’t get all worked up about what you need to study. I’m working eons away from my degree and I love it. The important thing is to get a paper which shows you can work hard, commit to something, leanr and listen.

^^^ Could I borrow that outfit? It really works for me. Even though I may be a tad old for it.

25lb dumbbells are not weak sauce! Do you ever train your upper body with barbells? It can help you move a bit more weight so those 30s will be cake in no time. I couldn’t help but jump in on the major discussion and nerd out. Take a geography class, I think they’re required for undergrad anyway. Ok, I may be biased…Urban planning major here. I’m taking a really amazing class this semester, guess what it is? Economic geography. You would love it.

Dixie-I have a lot of experience handling dbags. See, I used to be attracted to them. Then, I got my heart broken and stomped on and trashed. Seeing them in the gym makes me lift harder cause my blood’s boiling =D

MiM-superset junkies unite! We should start a support group-oh wait, we’re already here…

Ink-hello! Thanks

Nikki-maybe next time I’ll give it a little shake just for you heehee. Trust me, the blatant contradictions of my girlieness and iron worship actually make BOTH sides more fun. It’s like oreos-the filling and the cake are both tasty, but together they’re magical! It’s a contrast thing.

nlmain-too true, gotta remember I’m here to make good impressions

snap-old, schmold. It’s never to late to unleash your inner child. I waited til I became a legal adult to truly embrace mine!

owlie-you mean I’m not a weenie? WOot! Yeah I’ll be picking the bar back up soon, I just wanted to get started with unilateral work as I have a history of pretty fierce imbalances. Let the games begin!

PS economic geography sounds like the shizzle. I bet we have something like that here. Registration is in November…

imma still call you a weenie.

no one minds pwo hair. its just like jbf hair, and the pervs (read- EVERYONE) around here dig that.

stop feeling awkward that people stare while you’re deadlifting. you’d feel worse if they didnt.

Bear, your perspectives are always so refreshing. I enjoy the unexpectedness (though the part about calling me a weenie didn’t shock me at all :-P).

Favorite lift? Back squats or BB military press…these two conveniently land on the same day in my current program making it an epic workout

Favorite supp? plain old protein, fish oil, and 5-HTP

Favorite witty expression? We both know I’m no good with witty expressions so I’ll throw out my favorite motivational quote instead  “In this life we get only those things for which we hunt, for which we strive, and for which we are willing to sacrifice.” Keeps my eyes on the prize!

Favorite song to get you ready to rip some iron off the ground?
Killswitch - For You

I can only hope it blares through my headphones and “scares the frat boys”.

Get BS in Economics, Get PhD. in Economics, Go to work for Goldman Sachs, rule world.

Seriously though, if you have an interest in it then go for it. There are enough Management, English, and Sociology majors working as baristas as it is.

Heh, and here I thought that I was the only one thinking about douches in the gym as motivation.

Imagine me walking in the gym, putting several plates onto a bar with yellow nails.
You’re right though, the girlieness and tomboy together is… heh, magical.

Yeah, I’m a perv and PWO hair gets me excited, so what?

Good stuff mom-in-MD! How’d I know you were into the heavy stuff! Why can’t I find women like you anywhere! Augghhh!

Anyway, welcome MissPlucky. I came across your post as an Fraternity guy myself and thought this had to be a good post. Most of the fraternity guys I know were wimps anyway. They told me they knew how to workout, however, upon looking at them workout it was like watching monkeys dry humping a football half the time (if you’ll excuse the expression).

Favorite lift: toss up between deadlifts and squats
Favorite Supplement: depends on what I’m working towards
Witty expression: “You going to eat that?”
Favorite lifting song: Immortally Insane --Pantera–
I Feel So Numb --Rob Zombie–

Fixed!

Looking good there Missy! The heavier weights will come with time, hard work and consistency.

Caudle-hey missy  Good to see you here! Thank you for blessing these pages with the goodness that is Killswitch.

Joe-ruling the world sounds good

Nikki-mine are hott pink! Glad you like my frizzy hair

Gremlin-welcome to my log. There are more ladies that like the heavy stuff than you think

Doc-biology definitely isn’t on my agenda…and I really hope your avi is legit. That would be me, popping into somebody’s x-ray =P

Tuh tuh tuh tuh Tuuueeeseday liftin’

Warmed up with goblet squats to make sure all my pieces were in place–45 lbs x 10
bulgarian split squats 5x5, 30s
db OHP 5x5, 20s
^^backed off from last time on these, my form tends to suck (think sagging lower back-aaack!)
assisted pullups 5x5, the thingy was set on “78.” guess that’s pounds…
lateral raises 5x5, 10s
^^lateral raises are devil spawn. that is all.
cable close grip pulldown 5x5, 85 lbs
seated calf raise 4x8, 60 lbs
^^seated ones make me very happy, standing ones piss me off. Weird?

Today’s workout pleased me. Then Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” came on and I briefly lost all faith in the gym.
Thank goodness for ipods. I call mine, “Shuffie.”

mmm om nom nom

You don’t like Teenage Dream!!!.. I love you even more now haha

I hate lateral raises too. I like them on an incline bench, but hate them standing. So I do L-lateral raises. I don’t know why I love those so much.

I found this little guy on the way to the gym. Good omen?

incline bench huh? I’ll have to try that!

Argh, it didn’t post my edit.

That dinner looks delicious, I’ll ask if it’s chocolate milk or protein shake but it doesn’t matter… it’s chocolate!

Hmm-mm, you can lay on the bench on your back and do lateral raises like that, or you can go on your left side, do lateral raises with your right arm, then switch sides. Hopefully you like it.
