DixiesFinest- wish there were more of 'em originating from a forum like this one…you in law school? I think corporate law would really float my boat.

You just need the Arkansas Sigs, we are the best and expect nothing less.

Yeah, I am in my first year at Mississippi College School of Law, busy but fun. I may have missed it, but what is your major?

Deja- yup, really looking forward to that aspect of the next four years of my life…

Dixie- no idea! I’m currently wayy too excited about everything to decide on anything. I’ll get it figured out eventually, I hope soon, because I don’t like not having a focus to whatever I’m doing (side effect of an all-or-nothing personality)

Heh no rush with the workouts, it’s still nice to follow the journal.
Although I am anxious to see your “total halfsplitthing.”
I love when we become in tune with our bodies enough to know what we respond to best.

hahaha! No shit.

EDIT: Also looking forward to your training regime. In addition, I am also interested in hearing about your major/career aspirations.

favorite lift? Deadlift, pre-injury. Now? Chest supported rows, perhaps.
favorite supp? Fish oil, vitamin d, and good old protein
favorite witty expression? “A is A”
favorite song to get you ready to rip some iron off the ground? FFDP - Walk Away

Keep it up, little sister

Good luck with deciding on your major, I majored in history with a minor in legal studies, really enjoyed it.

^^^my big brother  and the reason I ended up here in the first place

lol of course you would go with “A is A”
whenever I’m feeling cranky about someone inadequate, I think of the classic, “‘please tell me what you think of me,’ ‘I don’t’”

Haha now the pressure’s on!

A is A, huh?

I think A is A for Adorable.

What majors are you deciding between?

Thanks, Mrs. Alisa

So far, I really like economics. I don’t know what I’d do with it, but it’s the only class I really get pumped about-like, sitting in the front row bouncing in my seat. The professor talks about some really interesting issues.
It worked for my big brother =D
Along those lines, anything with a business admin/managementy spin sounds like fun. I like working “behind the curtain” and finding ways to help people be more efficient.

In a very different vein, I realized the other day that I would really like being a therapist for children-I was in the library and I saw this book with a title about children and how they deal with death and grief and it really spoke to me.
Who knows? I think I’ll go check out that book and see where it takes me.

Ah the joys of freshman year…like a subject? shoot, look into it, see where it takes you!

I took some economic classes and really enjoyed economic theory, but as for the grinder classes, well I avoided them. A good friend is majoring in economics, he is enjoyin it, different strokes for different folks I guess…pictured above is my friend (sorta).

If it makes you feel any better, I STILL don’t know what I want to be when I grow up!

I never wanted to settle for a job that I wouldn’t look forward to doing(aside from being a mom!) It’s slowly coming together and it will for you to!

I took a bunch of econ in college and I thought it was fascinating. I wound up not wanting to do it for a living (I have some pet peeves about the way academic economists work) but I could very easily have gone down that path. Go for it! If you’re bouncing in your seat, that’s the right answer.

Try out everything that interests you.
I found that I liked economics too, but I definetely didn’t see me pursuing a career in it. Then again, I didn’t like it enough to bounce in my seat.

Or you can be an economist who counsels children… food for thought :stuck_out_tongue:

Stay away. Trust me.

Lol @ “economist who counsels children” that’s one I hadn’t thought of, Nikki!
Thanks for all the good food for thought, guys.

I actually trained today!
First off, I get all changed and ready in the locker room, pop in my headphones and…nothing. Lil shuffle was nonresponsive. Guess I should charge the poor thing occasionally, duuuhhurrrr
SO, I bounce on in to the gym and have to work out to some hip hop station they’ve on all the time–it really made me wanna get my groove on and shake mah booty all over da flo, but causing a scene was not on the agenda today.

What WAS on the agenda today–hips and horizontal push/pull:
incline db bench, 5x5 …25lb dbs
bent db rows, 5x5 …same
(I do my exercises in pairs to save time, so I do those two, rest, repeat, etc. Works nicely with antagonists)
single leg db DL 5x5 …40 lb dbs
kneeling hip extension machine …110x5, 130x5, 150x5, 170x5, 190x5
standing calf raise machine 70x12, 90x12
hamstring rocker machine "level 7"x12, "level 8"x12 (yeah, I don’t understand this one, but it’s fun)

Soo general evaluation: good and bad. I really wanted to move up to 30s for the bench, but those suckers weren’t going ANYWHERE. Sadface. I’m such an upper body weenie. I have faith though, with time and patience I will come to be slightly less of a weenie!
I feel like my lower body strength is way out of proportion, but then again that’s pretty normal for chicks, so I hear.
Pretty crowded on the floor today–there was a lot of jockeying for positions in the freeweights section–but I didn’t have a hard time. They get out of the way for me. Then I feel awkward doing my DLs and rows…but the majority were gentlemen about ogling today. I had my headphones in, even though I was lacking my crazy loud death metal, so nobody would talk to me. Score.
The dining hall was lacking my PWO chocolate milk. GGRRRROOWWRRR…

I was pretty excited about my outfit today

please excuse the PWO hair

Here’s my log book. Very Testosterone, right?

Lookin great, whats the problem with PWO hair?

When you are jocking for room on the free weights, the solution is to lift more than the dbags. simple.

Keep up the good work.

Very cute!

I’m a super-set junky too.
