Plateau on Deadlift

Great progress Khalid! Good example of problem solving right there.

tom your right the weight was obviously just to heavy on that occasion however i have pulled 330kg in the gym before so i wouldnt say 322.5 was totally outside my ability i think it was more a technique issue than anything and if i work out my weakpoints and strengthen them with the techniques suggested a miniscule error in my form shouldnt throw me off as much as it does now.

And I’ve been doing rows more also as Khalid said.

One thing that is helping me lately is technique. Get stronger, work on technique, rinse repeat. I was starting to pop my hips to soon and I think it was not taking the slack from the bar.

What I’m trying to say is that when you get stronger and hit acertain level, sometimes we all let technique slide a little. for me forcing the hips down and back and the bar slack is the key.

Funny thing is that I think I’m so much farther down than I am when I start my pull.

Tom63, I discovered the issue of pulling the slack out of the bar a couple of years ago. It makes a big difference doesn’t it? Good luck and stay healthy.

HU&P, To be more specific, I increased the volume on all my back work. I incorporated more chins and pulldowns with different grips. Also, I added face pulls, wide grip and close grip cable rows, kroc rows, t-bar rows. Play with your rep and set scheme and see what’s the most effective. This is what helped me with my lockout. I hope it helps you in some way.

I don’t recall that Khalid but it sure is necessary . I think it’s absolutely necessary to watch technique as you f
gain both weight and strength . And lose weight .

I’m sorry Khalid. I read your last post wrong . I thought you said you wrote about it previously. But you’re still right .

I think it is more important to refine technique as you get stronger .
