Plantar Fasciitis

How is it going ladies and gents…

As the title says…I have plantar fasciitis/PF/morning b*tch whatever you’ve heard it been called.

For those who don’t know what PF is, it is a strain/tear in your plantar fascia that runs in the bottom of your foot (very painful)

I already have orthotics, stretch, reduced running, hell I even slowed down my calf/ham routines to prevent a complete tear

Just curious if anyone has a certain stretch, massage, etc…

Thx!

Plantarfascitis is typically an overuse injury of the plantarfascia characterised by stiffness first thing in the morning or after exercise, easing as you exercise.

Typically it will be caused by poor biomechanics of your feet. Does your arch collapse and do you overpronate.
Ok you have spent money on orthotics but what are your shoes like? orthotics in shit old shoes won’t help much.
Can be other things contributing but keep working on maintaining your movement.

Stretches are the typical soleus calf stretch but to increase the strain on your plantar fascia have your toes bent backwards up against a step or ledge.

Self massage: golf ball or lacross ball should do the trick. Roll into the ground, get in nice and deep.

Get a rolling pin. Place on floor and roll feet hard and often. Frozen water bottle is good too. According to my ART guy, this is better than a ball. Works for me.

hmm interesting.

Check out this link, guy is a genius (and a highly respected PT, not some random guy posting videos).

You could also find a chiro who does ART, or Graston, or both.

Thanks for that, PB Andy. I’m always battling plantar pain these days.

my massage therapist had Plantar fascitis and did prolotherapy. it took a lot of treatments but he feels 100% now.

something to look in to.
