well today i did my last deadlift/back day before the meet, and some bad news…completely tore off my callous right below my middle finger, and wow does it fucking hurt, and wow did it bleed like a bitch…

i had 315 doing it for 8, and the bar started to slip a bit, instead of just letting it drop, stupid me tried to grab it, and the gnarling on the bar just caught my callous and took it down with it…i taped my hand up and finished my workout though = )…

but its not good, i pretty much have a hole in the middle of my hand, its raw, and it fuckin stings/hurts so bad…im telling myself it wont affect me next week, but i beleive it will…

theres is no way of regaining a callous back in 1 week, so this is gonna be a problem, but ill deal with it…does anyone know if ur allowed to have ur hand bandaged and still compete with deadlifts?? is there any sort of rule with that???

any input or help with this would be great, but im not sure if there is really much to do except suck it up and just lift the fuckin weight next saturday…5 seconds of pain is all worth it for a 500lb pull or more right?? atleast thats my outlook on this situation…

FUCK MAN! i feel so bad about the callouses…! Your best bet is an assload of neosporin and bandaging just to regain skin on it as much as possible. I did the same exact thing last year, but it was cause i was chewing and pulling on them :stuck_out_tongue: lol. And yes 5 secs of pain if DEFF worth the 500+ DL. And on the day of the comp completely wad that shit with as much chalk you can pack in there lol

I also did gay biceps and want nots like that. A bunch of dips and stuff noting too special. Needed to get a feel for the new gym

looks like a decent workout, getting back into the swing of things at a new gym is always a bit different…hope to hear some big numbers in the future! are you planning on using any gear, bench shirts or squat suits??? i just found out that i am allowed to use knee wraps for this comp, i just recieved my Black Mamba 2 Meter Knee Wraps from ProWristStraps.com, they are fuckin sick…im pretty pumped to use them, heard they can make a pretty big difference, so hopefully they will help me out…comp day will be my first day using them, the guy who i lift with said it shouldnt be a problem using them the day of…any thoughts??? i figure ill do a few warm up sets with them on…anyway, i got a new pair of running sneakers from sports authority, big memorial day sale, awesome price…so im gonna go break them in and do some cardio!! AWESOME haha

hahha thats sweet yoll get to use knee wraps…as for me the only gear im going to work with are knee wraps and a belt because my next meet will be an APA all raw drug tested meet and thats what you can use. I might pick up on gear again in a year or so when im looking to make a big splash back into USAPL on the national stage lol. In other words, when I can do a 1200 RAW im going to begin working with gear again lol. Youll feel a big difference benefically speaking from the wraps, but they wont affect you in an awkward way at first like other gear does. THIS WEEK MAN!! THIS WEEEEKKK!!

haha i knowwww, 3 more days…im gettin anxious, fuckkk, i just wanna lift heavy shit, saturday better come quick!!! my weight is lookin good…cut down on my carbs and sodium intake, and been doin lots of fun cardio…this morning i was 183.8…yesterday i was 184.1…tomorrow morning i hope to be exactly 183…thursday night ill eat very little, and ill also reduce my water intake as well thursday afternoon, and depending what i weigh friday morning will determine how much i eat/drink friday during the day before the 5pm weigh ins…

Yes i am…Ill have pics and Videos…the only pain in the ass is that the video camera we have is still like those little mini tapes, its not a dvd or mini hard drive…so it may be a bit of a pain in the ass upload them, but ill get it done, i promise…unless i completely bomb out, in that case, i wont be posting another single thing on T-Nation, i must just completely delete my account haha jk jk…ill have pics for sure, and video as well…

today is my weigh in day, woke up at 182.3, went to my gym at 8am, sat in the sauna for about 15-20 minutes, and i am no down to 181.2…good shit…i showered, gave myself a full body shave, legs and all, very bodybuilderish i know, but its 1 of the greatest feelings in the world i must say…haha…well im gonna go pack my jeep up, and head out to PA, ill be back Sunday, and post the vids and pics ASAP…thanks for all the support guys, do my best to make all these posts worth the wait…“my best”??? anyone see The Rock?? in the words of Sean Connery, “Your best? Loosers always wine about their best, winners go home and fuck the prom queen!!” haha so im just gonna go there and kick some ass and move some heavy fuckin weights!!

Going to fuck the prom queen, I LOVE IT!! Im sure as I type this you are whooping ass in the squat, beings it only 10:30 in the morning lol. Cant wait to here about your comp tomorrow! BW jmkb1, I asked Ironwarrior the same question so in light of you waiting another day for an answer he would strongly recommend it, as he does to me every time I do a bench workout lol.

I use them on ME days, beings as working the top part of the lift would usually require a higher % on average than a full ROM. From a competition standpoint I find that 2 board board presses work the best for me beings thats about the sticking point for me.

yoo! whats up guys, got back last night around 830 from the meet, and i showered and ate real quick than went out to celebrate and chill with all my friends, so i didnt have a chance to post anything, BUT! it all went real well…my girlfriend took videos of all my lifts so ill post them ASAP, she just needs that cord to connect her camera to the computer, when she does that ill post the lifts…as for my results!

Squat…
Opened with 425 and smoked it…Took 455 blew that up real well also…NOW i should have just gone with 475 or 480, but of course i wanted that fuckin 500 squat…i unracked it real strong, and got it moving out of the hole, i really really thought i was gonna get it, but i stauled and didnt get it, but its all good, i know im real close to getting it!!

Bench…
Opened with 280, went up real easy…2nd attempt 290, did that easy…3rd attempt, 305, and im pretty sure that flew up, we will have to check the video when i post it haha i dont fully remember, but im pretty sure it went up real easy, that was a PR, sweet gay bench…

Deadlift…this one is painful…
Opened with 465 or 470 i forgot, pulled it but it wasnt great…2nd attempt 500, super ugly, i really had to fight for it, but i got it…than i just went for 520 for a PR but that didnt move…i may have been spent from the heavy squat attempt, but i just need to work on my deads…

i think i peaked way to early on them…but my coach and i were talking (coach has now benched over 700 in 4 weight classes, first person to ever do that, he has squatted 1,000lbs, and deadlifted 830, he is just a fuckin animal and knows his shit) but we were talking and we got alot of new things to try with my deadlift…lots of Band work i think, elevated close stance deads, and lots of fun stuff, but i know ill improve on it…

All in all, it was a great day, i took 1st place with a 1260 total, which is a PR as well for a total…2 new PRs yesterday, squat and bench, previous squat was 425 and previous bench was 280…i definitely could have gotten 475-480 on squat, but whatever, saying it doesnt mean much, ill just have to do it in training and get a video to prove it = )

my coach and i had a 3 hour ride home to talk about future training, and lets just say we got a ton of great ideas floating around…im REALLY excited to start up this new routine…im gonna be trying some totaly new things, but i dont wanna speak too much on that, ill keep all that stuff for future posts!!!
