…and? How many guys has he trained who look like the guys CT trains?

Wait, so it is beyond your mental capacity to understand the act of speaking generally? Someone has to mention every outlier in the universe just so you don’t try to find any and all exceptions to the rule on the planet?

When I said I was confused, it was tongue-in-cheek. I’m perfectly capable of understanding general speak. When you speak generally, I tend to agree with you.

In the sentence that I quoted, you SPECIFICALLY and EMPHATICALLY stated that a person can NOT give advice beyond the point of their own development. This is patently wrong, particularly when it comes to elite level athletes, just about all of whom have coaches.

For example, I’m quite certain that Usain Bolt has a sprinting coach. I doubt he’s run as fast as Usain (no one has in history), yet he still listens to his advice on how he can get even faster. If you can’t take advice from someone who is smaller than you because that person has never achieved your size (irrespective of his goals), that’s up to you, but you should realize that you may be limiting your own growth by said stance. And before you go off about speaking in general terms and exceptions, re-read your response to me RE: 21" arms and tell me that was speaking in general.

That’s all from me,
DB

To paraphrase a friend of mine- “When you are working with elite athletes, you can not take credit for their performance. Sometimes the best thing you can do is not screw them up.”. And he has had hands on experience with a very large majority of people you see on TV winning superbowls, stanley cups, track championships, and numerous other international athletes from a wide variety of disciplines.

Based on the responses in this thread, no one would take any advice or training he has to offer. Moot point though, seeing how he does not give advice over the interwebz.

So why would I put that in this thread? Cause it is not any one thing that someone who has achieved phenomenal results does. It is everything that they do that produces the phenomenal result.

You aren’t going to get that over the internet either, no matter how big the guy giving advice is.

?

If he has trained other people to get really big and really strong, why would you write what you just did?

Wait…you mean in the other 20 or so attempts in this thread alone at me writing:
IF HE HAS TRAINED GUYS TO GET REALLY BIG THEN HE OBVIOUSLY FUCKING QUALIFIES TO HELP PEOPLE GET REALLY BIG.
you still missed it?

Blazed right past that first line, huh?

People: very, very few of us train athletes or anybody at all. Our problem lies with people who don’t train others, aren’t impressive themselves, and speak as if they know exactly what to do because they read a couple of Thib’s articles. When what they believe contradicts what some big guy posts, they have to step in with they’re yeah buts. Some guys are just naturally gifted and they really shouldn’t give advice either.

It’s about been there done that. If you’ve never done that or trained people who have done that then don’t argue with the proven results.

I’m not huge and don’t give advice to get huge. I’m naturally thin and I don’t give advice on losing weight either. I do express my ideologies and what has worked for me though.

Yeah, I get that. Hell, I don’t give advice at all anymore. No need, as most people asking for it don’t really want it anyways, they just want confirmation that what they are doing is right, good, and/or the fastest and sexiest way to get mega-ripped cuz so-and-so said so.

Anything to the contrary of what they already believe is just wasting time. They don’t take it whether it comes from me, Professor, Thibs, or any one else for that matter. See dumbdumb posting his thread everywhere else in an attempt to get others to chime in for a recent example of this. Dropping BF - Supplements and Nutrition - Forums - T Nation

I think more often than not, some guys are just looking for the best or most solid person to blame for not getting results, and just playing a protracted game of failure so that they can justify quitting.

But hey, what the hell do I know. I’m just some guy on the internet.

I think this board needs boldface and underline as I’m not really feeling the CAPS LOCK anymore.

Nicely done.

Not that I’m a bodybuilder or anything, and this conversation is about bodybuilding, but…

When I was first trying to get into shape (more specifically-lose fat) I wasted a bit of time reading stupid articles on the internet saying the same old crap. In fact I found out the internet is FULL of people who are ‘experts’ on fat loss because they have been trying to lose it for years :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d really like to know how to do italics. that would come in handy.

Here’s how he did it. Ignore the “end quote” at the end.

Lol, I guess it’s the same for gaining muscle, so many people have been trying to do it for so long, they can quote verbatim every different theory that exists, and yet still haven’t made progress worth noting, or that might verify their ‘knowledge.’
