Trojan, plans on the 24th, would you mind giving us a christmas present as well by showing them us, including the calories & g’s of protein etc on the diet? ![]()
USCTrojan619, you’re part Filipino? You sure don’t look like one. I’m pure Filipino so I can somewhat tell. Is your mom/dad pure Filipino? From what province are you? Can you understand Tagalog? Haha…
But hey, if you indeed Filipino, that’s even better coz Filipinos are mostly genetically predetermined to be ecto. If your clinic is successful, it would really be great for a lot of ectos out there coz you’re really a good and accurate template for a true ecto.
Best of luck!
“This is blasphemy! This is madness!”
“Madness…? THIS… IS… ECTO!”
haha yea its corny but i had to, with all the ectos rallying to your side and all.

Well done.

I ordered Waterbury’s book (“Muscle Revolution”) which was a great guide to make sure I understood the basics (which I didn’t and I highly recommend you make sure you cover your basics). The problem, however, was that it didn’t have anything on ectos or body types![/quote].
I used Dr. Berardi’s S2B book. This was actually tailored to ectos and had a lot of good info.
I don’t know if that’s good or not, but at least you’re gaining.
Good luck, eat more and no beer!

Don’t worry. Not cheating isn’t hard for me. I don’t have an affinity to any kind of food, and when I get serious about training, I just think of food as my fuel to get bigger. No beer for me. All water.

I got you guys. As soon as I get it, I’ll post it up, complete w/ all the numbers Coach Thibs puts on there.

Yeah, I’m full Filipino! Mom and Dad born and raised, but I’m Ilocano.
I’m sure all the ectos can appreciate that.
Good job with getting the cooler and stopwatch.
I ALWAYS have my cooler with me at all times which is like my nutrition training partner.
And the stopwatch is essential with a lot of the programs here especially Chad’s and CT’s! It’s too easy to overestimate 60 seconds of rest!
Looking forward to your training and great progress. Take care Bro!
Hey where’d you buy that scale from??
good job going the extra mile and buying the cooler, cool ice, and weight scale

Target!!! WOOOO!! I think it was $39. I know I could’ve gotten one a lot cheaper, but I’m a sucker for technology.
good luck USCTrojan!
Man forget the muscles, tell us how you manage to look so young. If you could bottle that you’d be a billionaire.
Good luck man and try to keep the information flowing for all those ectos out there

Haha! Great, now I’ll look like a muscled-up (hopefully) 16 year old!
And stay tuned. I’m keeping this sucker updated like crazy.
Actually you will see that when you start piling on the muscles the extra test will make you look older.
Been where you are…
As for the mental approach do a search for auto-suggestion and mental relaxation. Old timers used concentration to keep everything that was happening around them out. They would concentrate on the exercise at hand (not the weight) to the exclusion of everything else.
You have to learn to concentrate on whatever you are doing to the point where you don’t see or hear anyone or anything else.
Now how do you develop this. Best way I have found is to do it 2 ways. First way is every night before going to bed learn how to mentally relax. After that you can then visualize yourself lifting whatever is your goal. Say bench 315 or squat 500 or deadlift 400. Imagine your body the way you want it to look. Keep that image burning in your head.
Second way is before a set close your eyes and actually see yourself in your mind lifting the weight for the required number of reps. See your face and your muscles growing with each rep that you effortlessly complete and at the end open your eyes and do it!
Hope this helps
sawadeekrob,
Thanks for the tips. I also did the search and came across a good mental relaxation thing that Shug got from an interview with a sports psychologist. Good stuff.
On another note, we get an early Christmas present tomorrow guys! I should be getting the diet and workout plans, so stay tuned.
Hey Trojan,
Congrats on being selected for the clinic. You certainly look like you deserve it. I am, and will be following along with much interest.
As far as “getting pissed off” to lift: I don’t really agree with this mind set.
Yes, open that family sized can of whup-ass… But don’t get “angry”.
My old powerlifting coach used to have a ritual that would act as his “on/off” switch, and I sometimes use this as well. I wear my baseball cap to workout. It faces forward. I change weights, get water, think about what I want to do with my life, talk to my training partner. Then, when I get set up for a big lift, I turn the cap around so it faces backwards. This is “the switch”. Then, no talking - only extreme all out effort and focus. The switch turns me into an animal. When I finish the set, I step away, and turn the cap back to the front.(don’t want to hurt anybody!)
I’m not entirely sure why this works so well - I think it has something to do with the action reinforcing the mental processes or something. Kind of like the rubber band thing Shugs was talking about. Your mind and body simply begin to understand, “when the hat turns around, I’m ON.”
There is no need to bash shins on bars, or think about bad situations and get angry. I think the getting angry method could be bad because of the release of cortisol in the system to match the adrenal response. And we all know cortisol destroys muscle tissue…
After a while, you’ll find that wearing a hat isn’t even necessary. You can just flip that switch at will.
There’s my 2 cents for now! Keep up the great posts, you’re going to kick some ass, I have no doubt.
mithious, im sure you’re only trying to help but… i think the ‘pissed off’ concept is derived from Chris Shugart’s phoenix article that he sent out to all the clients at physique clinic.

Hey man, good point, I wasn’t too clear. I was actually responding to Trojan’s question:
