Hahaha! Awesome. . .man cold. Just what I needed after a hard day’s work at the gym.

Hey all,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It really does mean a lot. Like I said in my PC, posting my pics was something I definitely wasn’t looking forward to. I can only hope to make more progress in the future.

I don’t know about being lean, but because I’m a full-blown ecto, I know I have to accept fat gain in order to gain mass. One step at a time. . .

Did Coach Thibs give you any calf work? Wondering what a calf routine would look like in this training style and what day it would fit in.
Nope, no calves, at least for right now. I think its a “putting out one fire at a time” kind of deal, if you know what I mean.

Tip: put a step under the flat bench and presto, you have either an incline or decline bench when none are available. There are lots of workarounds like that to enable you to stay in your workout groove even when the station you want is in use.
Doh! And I’ve actually done that before too. Hell, I don’t even know where they keep the steps in this gym! Haha. I think I’ve seen some in the aerobics/class room.

All the benches were actually taken, but it is a good tip to keep in mind. Too many damn people!

What’s the method of progression in your training? Sorry if it has been answered already.

USCTrojan619,

Good job. You look noticeably bigger to me already in your latest pics. Thibs and Shugart are doing an amazing job with you. I can’t wait to see it all work out.

As a fellow ectomorph I want to say great job. I respect the hard work and dedication you have put in so far. I agree, you look like you have gainned some size since you started. I have a couple of questions for you:

 1. how much money are you spending on groceries a week?
 2. what is your macronutrient breakdown like?( how many carb, protein, and fat are you consuming a day?)

keep up the good work.

Alright USC,
I must admit when you first started posting I didn’t think to highly, I think we may even had gotten into a bitching war somewhere on here lol.

But I gotta give props when they are due and you are doing a great job man! Keep up the great work and I can already see improvements!

I’m a fellow ecto, started lifting a couple of months ago, you’re a source of inspiration. You’re coming along nicely, i’ll keep following the progress! good luck!

You training at the Lion center on the USC campus? Oh how I miss that gym.

Thibs doesn’t include calf work in any of his routines.

I find my calfs get worked a fair bit doing the leg curls and RDLs.

Doing chest/biceps today, halfway through my machine curls I started sobbing uncontrollably! I was able to complete my sets but every rest period was 10 seconds of sobbing and hysterics.

On the plus side, from that point on I felt nothing physically at all, no pain, nothing, just several reps followed by the mechanical failure of not being able to lift the weight anymore.

I guess that’s how you know you’re doing it right!

I spent a good amount that first day since I had nothing, and I threw things in there like cold medicine and stuff like that. It was something like $122, I think. Then probably every 3-4 days, I’m spending anywhere from $35-45 to restock on some items.

It would probably be a lot more, but I’m at the parents’ right now, and they have a freezer stocked w/ my whole protein sources. So, it’ll probably jump up to $60-70 once I get back home. I’m also shopping at expensive as Albertson’s too, though.

There’s a few posts in this thread asking this question. See the answers there.

Way to go, Sab! I don’t know if sobbing is the right word choice or not. I can’t get the image of my wife crying when I hear that word!

I definitely know what you mean though. I love the pump once I hit up the preacher machine.

Today is leg day for me, and I WILL be sobbing during this workout.

Good work on the progress. I had digestion issues as well when I started to work out. I resolved it by taking Zymitol and eating more psyllium husk. Careful with the psyllium though as it makes slugging down shakes a challenge.

I go with a teaspoon or if I feel lethargic I up the dose to 2 teaspoons. I gained 6 lbs in 3 weeks when I started taking the psyl. and trips to the washroom were nice too. lol

Also if you want to “cheat” on your progress pics next time, take them first thing in the morning. I find my body water is at its lowest then.

IMHO, you have done a LOT in such a short time, and it sure shows!

Oh, and “Rescue Me” is the best show on TV.

I am pretty impressed with the detail of your posts. I keep wanting to ask something but then you go and answer it before I can.

Although, unless I missed it somewhere, I would interested in seeing a list of groceries that you buy for a week, ie 20 Oranges, 4 Pineapple, 6 Broccoli, etc.

Thanks in advance and keep at it.

Thanks for that MrZsasz. I know how it was being on that end when bizarre was the guy, so I want to do my best to keep things updated, and questions answered.

Good advice on the grocery deal. I don’t know why I never thought about including that in there! Duh! I usually just said “stopped by the grocery store” but never really broke it down. I’ll put the total cost as well after each trip.

Thanks man!

I was wondering if you had broken down the calorie/carb/protein/fat of all your meals and totaled it up for an entire day.

Just interested in seeing how much your consuming.

Thanks
