Physique Clinic discussion for USCTrojan619

yesss, as ectos its hard as a mofo to eat a lot… i admire your drive to try to keep up with coach Shugs and Thibs demands.

but like they mentioned, food is fuel. once you truly start to believe that, the food that you can not stand will start to taste much better.

as a matter of fact, when i was trying to gain weight, i never even tasted the food. i would just ‘inhale it’.

youre still in the beginning stages and from your photos, youre more than behind compared to the others. stay strong and im pretty sure that you’ll see the most/best gains from this pc.

stay strong and positive buddy

Hey,

Happy new year by the way! Are we going to see any new pictures/measurements soon?

I’m sure I’m not the only one wanting to see updates! Do you have a set time to weigh yourself and take progress pics and measurements?

Guys, an individual can hope to gain, in the best situation, around 2lbs of muscle in a month. He’s been training for 1-2 weeks, do you really think that taking pics and measurements will show any difference right now?

A few of you had questions about the numbers for the diet (protein/fat/carbs), as well as total calories. Those numbers were not given to me, just the food items themselves.

Someone told me about using FitDay to enter and keep track of my diet, and said that it would tell me those numbers. I asked Coach Thibs if he had them, but otherwise, doing the work yourself on FitDay is the other option.[/quote]

did u end up asking coach Thibs for them?
im sure he has them somewhere, he needs it to create the program

the “geustimates” arnt really as good, as what coach Thibs intended u to have.
i just wanted to see how much carbs, fat, protien each food has

thanks alot!

Couple of questions for clarification.

First question:
I noticed in your food journal you state that it takes 1 1/2 cups of liquid egg whites to equal 6 egg whites. Do different brands of liquid egg whites require different conversion amounts? (i.e. I purchased Naturally Preferred Liquid Pasteurized 100% organic egg whites and the conversion chart shows 3 Tbsp = approx. 1 lg. egg, so I only needed to use 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. to get my 6 eggs.

I threw that in my vitamix blender along with my 2 oranges, 1 cup of pineapple and 3 scoops of Metabolic Drive Complete Vanilla - it tasted great - all blended together it was about 5 cups - which felt like alot to drink at once, but much easier than chewing and eating all of that food.)

Second question:
For the weights for the chicken and fish it says 200g. Is that pre-cooking weight or after cooking weight? (i.e. I weighed out 2 pieces of chicken and weighed each of them to be exactly 200g pre-cooked using my salter scale model 1450 after cooking, one weighed 145g and the other 155g).

Also I squeezed fresh lemon juice on top of my chicken before baking it in the oven at 400degrees for 25 minutes like Dr. Berardi’s quick start cooking guide suggested. Does that violate my adherence to Coach Thibs plan should I just not put lemon on it?

Hey Trojan,

I feel your pain on holding down the excessive diet in the first week or two. Just know that in a couple of weeks your body will adjust and expect this amount of calories.

Tried the Chest & Biceps workout on Monday. Having never trained to failure - let alone beyond it - my biceps are the sorest they’ve ever been. Has Thibs prescribed any post work-out stretching?

Keep up the good work.

USC,

Keep up the good work man!

I’ll try to make this post answer multiple questions:

Well, I guess Coach Thibs answered the question for you. No, I don’t have a set time to weigh myself or take progress pics. I’m guessing that’ll be up to my prerogative, or until him or Coach Shugs tell me to. But like he said, I’ve only done 4 workouts, 1 for each body part. And been on this diet for 6 days and still getting used to it. More than likely, I’ll be posting update pics, just like I take pics of meals, supps, groceries, and I’m also thinking of some corny workouts shots too just to keep shit interesting.

REGARDING THE CALORIE/PROTEIN/FAT/CARB BREAKDOWN:

Like I said before, if you want these numbers, you’ll have to do the work yourself on FitDay or something like that. The numbers weren’t provided for me. If you say that Coach Thibs has them because he needs them to make my diet, then PM/ask him for them (I’ve already tried myself on all the ectos behalf).

I posted everything I was sent regarding the diet in my Physique Clinic. I’m just eating (or trying to eat) everything he tells me to put in my mouth. When the time comes where I don’t have Coach Thibs to spoonfeed me, then yes, I’ll be crunching the numbers myself to figure out where I need to be. He has A LOT on his plate other than just my Physique Clinic, so if he doesn’t have the time to answer that question, or just chooses not to, then we’ll just have to do that work.

REGARDING POST-WORKOUT STRETCHING:

Good question. I asked it following his answer regarding pre-workout stretching and warmups.

Just go with what the label of your egg whites say. I couldn’t tell you how much you need to use since I’m using a different brand. Good deal on mixing all that together. I don’t think I could do it, but something for me to think about when drastic times call for drastic measures!

Hmmm. I actually never thought of this. I automatically assumed it was AFTER cooking because of the reasons you state. So, for all my measurements, it was taken AFTER cooking. So, eat up!

Coach Thibs told me that if I do use anything to “spice” up my food, to make sure its low-fat/calorie/carb, and to not overdue it. I think you’re safe w/ the lemon juice as long as you don’t overdue it. I had a little on my baked tilapia, but it was barely a squeeze.

Thanks for the continued support guys. I appreciate it.

Happy New Year. Time to workout tomorrow!

Hey USC, just wanted to say how impressed I was that you resisted the New Year’s food. My girlfriend is Filipino and Filipino food is fucking delicious. I’m so sorry hahaha. Keep it up man.

I know it, bro! Like I said, this diet didn’t make it hard (like gustavopacho’s diet) since I’m eating so much. But man, it sure smelled good! I’ve learned how to make a few Filipino dishes myself, but nothing beats home-cooking from the Mom and Aunties!!!

Hey,

Have you felt like being sick at all during your workouts?
I just did the lower workout. I got through the quad stuff ok, but did one work set of leg curls and had to sit out for 15min to let the nausea subside before completing my workout.

Doing the workouts is great, because I now know how hard your pushing yourself.

Good luck for your back workout.

USC,

You are my doppleganger, bro. Exact same body, height/weight everything.

How do you cook the shrimp? I’m thinking of buying a 10 lb bag today and keeping some soaked in olive oil, lemon juice and a spice mix. Maybe stir fry it with vegetables.

By the way, the bathroom trips are due to all the pineapple and other fruits you are eating. I think you know that but I myself can’t handle so much fibrous fruit (especially the pineapple).

Do you know how many carbs a day you are getting? Sounds like an aweful lot, but I’m sure CT is pounding them into your body to force it to grow.

i would of expected SC to be eating more carbs… i’m surprised i havent really seen any much whole grain breads or brown rice… my trainers got me on an ectomorphic diet where i’m getting in 483 grams of carbs a day! keep up the good work… and send me a bottle of that workout fuel to try…

but honestly, i think coach Thib is a genius. i heard about not stretching before a workout, but i would still stretch the mucle after my workout was over… but he states that would cause slower recovery… i used to always change up my volume, doing high reps 2 weeks then low intense reps for the other 2 weeks…but he states that ectos produce a lot of cortisol on high volume sets…and should keep it short and intense… man coach Thib knows what he’s talking about, i have newfound respect for him.

Hi USCTrojan619,
do you have todays workout yet?
This time i have been looking all over for it

Easygee

I’m wondering about the lack of red meat in the diet?

Also any of you other ectos following this but that may not be able to afford the mountains of supps (like me) what are you doing to get your extra protein. I’m thinking of just bumping up the whole food proteins during the main meals. I just can’t swing over 10 scoops of protein powder per day.

Yeah, man. I hate leg days! Not because the exercises suck and all. . .I just know how much pain it causes, and how tired it makes my ENTIRE body feel compared to any other one.

Luckily, I haven’t felt seriously nauseous. And I’m downing a lot of pre/during/post shakes as well.

Easygee,

This week is another shortened week because of the holidays. It’ll be going like this for me:

Today: Chest/Biceps
Thursday: Legs
Friday: Off
Saturday: Back
Sunday: Shoulders/Triceps

So, today’s chest/biceps is exactly the same as the one posted in my actual Physique Clinic.

The other 3 workouts are posted somewhere in THIS thread.

Same diet and workouts until Coach Thibs tells me to change things up.
