Hey Gus, haven’t posted in the clinic threads before but I have been following all of you guys since the start. Congrats on your progress so far.
One thing I’d like to add is just wait till you are able to “normal” with other carbs besides veggies. Fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, and frozen berries are going to taste like freakin candy to you!!
I’ve been craving some fruit and I might have some next week for part of my breakfast meal. I miss blue berries and I’m looking forward to eating some in my last week of the Transition Phase.
CONGRATS on your success! I have to say that the weekend I discovered your ‘prescription’, I immediately jumped into a similar plan-- used your prescribed exercises (as mentioned before we had similar age, weights, measurements, etc.), only difference being that I’ve eaten 1 solid meal per day (described here: http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=546503&pageNo=14 )
I’m just finishing out week 3 and down 13 lbs. I expect to hit 15 in all…
Just a friendly tip to you and others doing this diet-- SPLENDA now makes ‘flavored singles’ which are mocha, hazelnut, caramel, and vanilla flavored splenda packets for coffee but flavor up the protein shakes quite nicely!
Also, for added fiber or just different texture, I add 2 Tbs of pure psyllium husk to my shakes-- it really thickens them up and makes the bland tasting psyllium much easier to tolerate.
Enjoy and KUDOS to you!
Congrats on dropping those 13 pounds. Good job man! I gotta check out those Splenda flavored singles, they sound good.
Great job again on your progress SD! Post up some pics after you drop those last two pounds.

I feel you on those blueberries. I eat probably 3 or 4 cups of em a day
A few days late but just read it in your pc thread…the pictures of your meals are starting to get to me by the way.
Hey thank you Qaash! Sorry about the pics, they will do that to you all throughout the V-Diet. I got real hungry just reading about what the other PC guys and girls were eating!
I didn’t stop watching the Food Network either which was crazy. There were times when I would drink my shake and watch Bizzare Foods show or Man vs. Wild and be jealous of the crazy stuff they ate. I actually wanted to eat goat eyeballs and crunchy bugs ha ha!
Now that I’m eating, I’m able to experiment with different cooking methods and spices which really bring out the taste in certain foods like chicken. You are going to have fun and get good at cooking after all this. Your lady will love you for it.
Stay Spartan Strict on your program, you will make it!

Spartan strict is my mantra. I’ll be trying out that hammer technique tonight for my steak tomorrow…prep it tonight with seasoning and grill tomorrow…can’t wait. Enjoy your day with the family.
When you talk about tempo…this will sound ignorant but what do you mean? I just try to lift the weight properly…up and then down, should I be timing the rhythm of my movements?

The tempo of the exercise is just how fast or slow you lift and lower the weight. Chad wants these workouts done with a fast lifting and a fast lowering tempo.
Just make sure that you also contract your muscles fully too. I didn’t emphasize that much as I was focused on the fast tempo. I think I might have missed out on more development and progress by not contracting as hard as I should have per Chad’s advice. My contractions were just really quick.
Now, I contract really hard at the top of the movement as well as keeping a fast tempo. I had to lower the weight on todays workout in order to keep my form perfect with all these variables and it made a good mind to muscle connection. The muscles were worked really hard and the pump was pretty cool. Hope it helps!
Hey bro, great results! I was really impressed. I was wondering, do you know if Coach CT is also going to post pics? It’d be nice to see their progress. I think you asked Shugs what his workout was and I would’ve liked to have seen more detail… but maybe that’s proprietary?
Hey, just a quick question. How do you add weight to a reverse crunch? In your pc you said you used 12.5lbs.
And I bet you don’t get tired of hearing it but I don’t think they coulda picked a better candidate than you for this. It’s cool to see how much you’ve changed your body with all the hard work you’ve done. Good job!

Don’t know if CT is going to post any pics, I know he is in incredible condition from the pics on this site. I like his transformation and it is extrememly motivating. The man knows his stuff and practices what he preaches.
I like Chris’s approach to training: switching up from splits and full body training. I actually made a lot of prgress from both methods at different times.

I just hold the dumbbell between my ankles and perform the movement. Bodyweight was kinda easy and I want to make sure my load is sufficient.
Gus,
Just wanted to say great job, and I tip my hat to you. You’re success is inspiring me to break through the barriers I’ve had. Thanks man, and again, great job.
Excellent work your progress is awesome. I just finished day 28 and was wondering about a couple of details for transition. Have you kept the calories the same as during the V-diet itself? And have you increased your carbs at all? My inclination is to keep the calories and carbs down, but I was wondering if I should bump them up a bit.
Thanks again for being an amazing role model. It was very motivating to watch your progress while I was doing this.
Your latest HSM looks uber college dorm friendly. Any tips on preparing eggs and tuna a la Pacho? It looks like it could become a standard for me!
Thanks!
I just used a couple of egg whites, 1 whole egg, and small can of water packed tuna. Drain water from tuna, get it dry & flaky, mix it eggs and pan fry with non-fat cooking spray. Use whatever spices you like and eat up. Quick, easy and high protein & low carb!
I wish I had low carb ketchup to eat it with but I can’t find it anywhere in my city. I used a tsp. of chili paste.
Hope it helps FGL!

Chris figured out that my last shake was near 500 calories so I try to keep the meal total the same.
No starchy carbs so far. Just veggies and more veggies. Heck, I am just happy to chew and not complaining at all!
I’m keeping my carbs low because my main priority is fat loss. I’m not interested in jumping into any mass phase right now. I’ve been bulking up for years and I need a break from that.
Do what you need to do for your particular goals. The healthy food preferences are going to go a long way!

Thanks Greg and I’m still supporting your hard work and efforts. Keep it up man and don’t look back. You got the ball rolling in your direction now and it is up to you on how fast you want it to go!
You can make this happen Greg. Take care and thank you for your kind words.
