CP,
I’ve looked at a couple stores (FarmFresh. Harris Teeter, Walmart, and Food Lion) and couldn’t find the Yams in water, only in syrup. I was wondering if you get them from a chain grocery or a health food store?
Thanks!
RetailBoy

I got them from a Wal-Mart type store, very hard to find though and in fact I bought them out and haven’t seen them since. Maybe it’s only for the holidays?

Why not just buy fresh sweet potatoes from the produce section? You can zap’em in the microwave like a regular potatoe. I would think they would be cheaper than canned, and better for you.[/quote]

Sweet potatoes aren’t Yams.

I stand corrected. check this out… this link clarifies the confusion —

“Today the U.S. Department of Agriculture requires labels with the term ??yam?? to be accompanied by the term ??sweet potato.?? Unless you specifically search for yams, which are usually found in an international market, you are probably eating sweet potatoes!”

Thanks for the source. I don’t blame consumers for getting them confused, it confused me for ever, they need to be labeled correctly, and not labeled what Americans like to ‘call them.’

Sorry about taking over your discussion board CP.

I have been watching all you Physique Clinic guys and I am learning from your experiences. I have applied for the Physique Clinic and hope to get picked to participate; until then I’ll be watching your progress. You guys are setting an example for the rest of us. Keep pressing towards the mark!

I am going to buy my sandbags to make my Barbarian duffle bag. I will use mine on Sunday afternoons. I am sure my neighbors will get a hoot out of me carry my duffle bag around the block!

Haha yea man I’m pretty sure people thought I was carrying around a dead body or something. It wasn’t helping that it was about 20 degrees out and hailing.

That is correct. I normally drink the SURGE first then crash on the couch and eat the oranges lol

Huh I didn’t know all that! Thanks retail for pointing it out and bluzfan for finding the information! The ones I get are yams, I can tell since they are long and skinny. Hmm I’ll have to ask CT if it matters much though between the two. Thanks again guys!

doesnt the oragnes slow the absorption of Surge

Not sure, but I drink it first so it gets into my system before the oranges.

Hey CP,
You ever feel hungry on this diet plan?

I did man but thats why CT and I added the extra shake between breakfast and lunch. After that I have been just fine! Haha if I do get hungry I just think about how many shrimp I have to eat… that usually does the trick

Crew,

I have been following your postes and you are showing some great dedication! Stay strong you are crushing the rest of the Clinic participants.

Pierce can you do me a favor and ask if clementines are nutritionally equivalent to oranges? They’s all I got :frowning:

pierce why dont u stop being a cheap bitch and actually buy some strongman equipment… and then let me use it when u move back down to clemson

You’re initial profile info for the clinic states that your caloric intake was 3500. This was your intake for before the clinic right? What was your initial intake when CT gave you the diet and now?

Also, I read what CT said about taking your temp every day, but what’s the heart rate for? Is it to check if you’re overtraining?

My cal intake is just about the same although now it is much less carb based. CT has me eating fewer carbs but around 300 grams of protein per day.

As for my temp and heart rate this is what CT had to say:

"As I mentioned in my locker room, the reason for asking CP to take his body temp, weight and heart rate is NOT to establish progress but rather to diagnose signs of overwork/underrecovery. His training program is very demanding on the nervous system and he has a stressful work schedule so the risk of nervous overreaching (short term overtraining) is significant.

An increase in resting heart rate of 3-5BPM sustained over 2 days indicate CNS overload. An increase of 6BPM+ indicate CNS overreaching. A sudden decrease of 3-5BPM might also indicate neural inhibition.

His body temp helps me establish if his metabolism is stable. He wants to gain size, so if his body temp is suddenly elevated by more than 1 degree, and is sustained over a few days, it tells me that his metabolic rate has increased by 10% and thus he needs to increase his calories to keep on growing.

His bodyweight is also used to diagnose overreaching, but metabolic/muscular overreaching not CNS overreaching. If his bodyweight suddenly drops down (which it shouldn’t since his caloric intake is above maintenance) it can indicate metabolic overreaching."

Thanks for checking on that, man. Clementines are now my favorite fruit. All that snow looks awesome too. I can’t really even imagine walking out my door and seeing that much snow on the ground to be honest.
