Physique Clinic discussion for CrewPierce

Hi CrewPierce! I wanted to ask you if you are going to do a summary of what you think you were doing “wrong” prior to the PC and what you think you needed to change to see results. I’m working on gaining strength and weight and have been using some of the exercises and diets on the PC… but then again, I still don’t know what I’m doing. Any advice on what changed? What has been working?

huh never thought of doing that, but it would be a good idea. I’ll try and put something together this week.

Crew, I just want to add my support mate… Things are going great for you, keep it going! Got a quick question, How is the strongman day progressing? have you chaged what you’re doing for it?
I started three weeks ago doing the same routine on Sundays, and God, Im glad I’ve got a small car! take it easy mate. cheers.

Hey man,
Just wanted to check in and say I’m following along, very nice job thus far. Keep up the good work.

Haha yea man those strongman workouts are tough huh? I’m not doing them anymore as CT has me workingout on Sunday’s now. He posted my workout days for the next 3 weeks and I posted what my workout was for this past Sunday. Let me tell ya man, my chest wishes that I still did strongman on Sunday!

I’m thinking of entering into a powerlifting meet within the next couple of months so it’s good that I have this bench phase followed by a squat phase!

Please keep me posted on this…

 • date
 • type of contest (raw vs. equipped)

etc.

We’ll need a peaking plan if you decide to enter as well as learn to use the equipment if you decide to go that way.

Ok will do! Once I get down to my new home I’ll look to see what’s coming up. I know there are a few local as well as state meets in the next few months.

It will be a raw meet as I don’t own any of the equipment yet.

The only equipment I have is a powerlifting belt (13mm), wrist wraps, and knee wraps.

Hey Crew,

I hope you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about the robbery.

Good thing you are out of the cold of Michigan.

So you have two days to take care of yourself before you get back into things.

Get some rest and I look forward to seeing how you recover and progress.

Sorry to hear you got robbed, the important thing is that you are safe. Also, sorry to hear you got a cold, rest up and get better soon.

Other than the robbery, the cold, and the ticket for your old truck, hope everything else is going ok in your new location.

Hey man,
I’m so sorry to hear you got robbed. Shoot me a PM when you get a chance bro and let me know you’re ok. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the well wishes! I never get sick so this is very odd for me. Good thing I recover quickly! Haha on that note I’m going to respond to the below 2 message and hit the sack before 10pm!

Thanks for your support man!

Hey I liked your post about complacency! You read so driven it was surprising to see you say you felt you had slacked.

It was a nice reminder to me that I should be checking what I am actually accomplishing or if I am just going through the motions.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear you got robbed, but your making good progress anyways! One quick question, when you do bench-press and start from mid-point, you bring it down halfway (till it touches your chest) then perform a normal set?
If you are talking about in the power rack, then no. I start with the bar touching the safety pins and press up from the mid-point.

The bar starts a few inches off my chest. I find this is the hardest of all exercises.

Hope that helps and let me know if you meant a different exercise!

No problem, I’m glad it helped! I think we are all human and doing the same thing day in and day out just becomes routine. As such we need to stop and take a look at how it’s going every once in a while and see if we like our progress.

I like the new avatar btw!

Oh, so all your reps are only going halfway up since the safety pins are above your chest?
That is indeed correct. Now I only do that exercise on Mondays and it’s my first exercise on that day.

So it starts on these stronglifts.com/images/strength-training-home-gym/bodycraft-power-rack.jpg , after each rep do you let it touch them again or do you lift it right before it touches it? Haha I think I’m a bit retarded
I let it touch but not rest on the bars. Getting it started from that mid-point is tough for me so the last thing I want is for it to rest on the bars lol. I think you got it now!

Haha I hope so, if not I officially don’t deserve to live :p
Haha that’s a bit harsh for being confused on an exercise lol!

Re-read your ‘New Start’ post as you’ve been ill since you wrote it.

I sense (maybe unfairly) that recent events have knocked your focus - DON’T LET THEM. You can control your training, you can control your diet, you can control your supplementation, use these as foundations that can’t be shaken by the other s*** life throws at you.
