If im not wrong CREW , you said before that you were training on some various Westside template…and if so…what do you think of ramping the weight to a 3 rep max vs 5-4-3-5-4-3-2-1…
thanks

My first lifting program was almost the exact same as Westside except that I had O lifts in there not just powerlifting movements. I still had two ME days and 2 speed days though.
I personally love going to a 1RM even though it has a bit too much volume to be a true 1RM before it. I know my body well enough to tell you that I suck at doing 3RM’s. I can continue doing singles up pretty heavy but if you knock off a few pounds of my max and tell me to rep it twice, I can’t.
They had an article not too long ago about people with my body type and it’s because of my mixture of muscle fibers.
CT also goes into it in his Black Book of Training Secrets.

I’ll do my best to take some this weekend, I’ve been practicing posing so I don’t look so dumb this time around!
Lol a powerlifter doing bodybuilding poses…never pretty!
Looking very good in the pics. noticeably tighter than the first set. Keep up the good work Crew and I wish you the best of luck with the remainder of the Physique CLinic.
I rowed at Umass Amherst. One of the toughest sports I have ever done. there is a women who goes to my gym who actually rowed at clemson, I know her first name is katie and she graduated in 04 I think. Anyways…glad your are continuing to progress. Look forward you at the end of the program think you will do very well.

Thanks teebone! Yea man rowing is harder than wrestling IMO. Both are a full body workout and all out, however those head races last 20 minutes! I think I may know who you are talking about actually lol I believe she was on the womens rowing team here.
Crewpierce,
Just had a couple of questions:
1)How long are your rest periods between sets?
2)What is your macronutrient breakdown like?
3)The strawberries and blueberries you eat, are they frozen? if so, how do they taste?
So, it turns out that katie turns out to be jennifer wortman, oops. Didn’t know clemson had a women’s team:p
new pics look good back looks more defined. Keep up the good work,

lol ok so no clue who she is haha!
150secs
I do not know for my current diet, CT did not include it.
They are frozen but I throw them in with the all-bran and some water and then nuke it for 1:45, taste GREAT!
You mention some difficulty and slight shyness in getting someone to take pictures of you shirtless and flexing. Well, with a body like yours I can’t imagine a better way to meet women! You seem to have a lot more nice ladies commenting in your thread here than any other Physique Clinic participant, so take advantage of your obvious appeal to women and deliver that line: “Excuse me, miss, but I’m supposed to submit pictures of myself shirtless and flexing for an on-line Physique Clinic I’m participating in. The lighting in my apartment is just right, so would you…?”
I wonder if that line would have worked for me in college? Nah. It wouldn’t have been convincing. There was no Internet back then!

Haha let me lay on you the problem with that. I already have a wonderful lady in my life and although being rather small she packs a mighty punch. Go figure I go for the girl that punches instead of slaps right?
The g/f seems to limit the amount of ladies I can have over to take pictures of me but she will be able to do the job in 2 weeks as I move back to SC then.
Haha by the way she reads this thread so there goes the excuse “oh be sneaky about it,” I’ll possibly be getting calls after all workouts asking, “Is anyone taking pictures of you?” now haha.
Oh one final point, I live in Michigan. I have yet to see any real attractive women here.

Hmmm so it looks like things have slowed down on my boards!
Not too many people commented on the pictures I took, and the coaches haven’t written much lately.
I need to do something controversial I think. Hmmmm what would piss people off…
RABBLE ROUSER
Hey Crew, so besides the food orgy on your feasting day, what is your favorite part of the program? The strongman day sounds like almost fun.
You may be pale but I bet you still have more of a tan than most Michiganers.
Haha that I do, they look like ghosts up here!
My favorite part of the program…the free SURGE lol but thats a given
I would actually say the diet of all things! I knew how to eat well before this but it’s so much easier when you have a big, bald dude telling you what to eat when. Haha it takes all of the thinking out of it and that’s why I don’t fall off the diet.
I also like the Tuesday leg days. Hitting a 1RM max on both squat and deadlift hurts like hell but it feels good to be working that hard!
Oh and you’re damn right I’m a rabble rouser! Hmm maybe I should post a picture of my tongue ring…it’s actually under my tongue not through the middle of it. Maybe that will gross some people out.
kelleyb wrote:
Tongue ring eh? When I hear that I always think of Chris Rock’s “No sex in the champagne room.” lol
Lol ok well to avoid the ghey comments let’s call it what it i, a frenulum linguae piercing.
Haha I have 6 other piercings to talk about as well…well I DID have them. When I got my job at the government a few years back I couldn’t get through the metal detectors at work so I had to take most of them out.
Btw hence the name Pierce on here. I was the pierced kid on the crew team.
kelleyb wrote:
I see. I’d been thinking that pierce was your surname.
Good job, btw, on your progress so far.
I can’t wait until I can start eating more and gain some strength. This dieting down stuff is for the birds.
thanks man! I actualy went by Pierce in college as there are a million and a half Mike’s out there. Plus there were several on the team so it made it easier on all of us lol.
