Good call on the songs. I haven’t listened to a lot of Dragonforce or Killswitch Engage but I have really liked what I have heard.
As for Rise Against, theY kill it! I saw them live 4 times last year all in amazing venues. I think I have seen them about 9 times total live. Kill pit.
State of the Union is probably my favorite song of theirs and is in my gym mix.
Also check out Coheed and Cambria, Children of Bodom, and of course Pennywise.

Oh yeah a question I forgot, for bartl or CT, what should I consume in my PWO shake if I’m on a very low carb diet and don’t want glutamine?
I would just stick with Grow! Whey but I’m no expert.
Yep, I don’t understand why you don’t want glutamine, but Grow! Whey or a whey isolate is a good choice. Adding BCAA’s is also a good idea.
It’s expensive for me to afford 40-80 grams of glutamine a day, also I’m in Canada and there aren’t any good supplement stores here
It’s expensive down here to. The one thing I don’t like is that no matter how much you mix it, it always sinks to the bottom of the glass.
I love the BCAA’s from Biotest though…

This is Bartl’s thread. Go ask this in “The Thib Zone.”
Go Blue! '00 grad.

Keep kicking ass on CT’s program! And actually you motivate me to push hard and harder. You had to do this with only one good knee for a while. I hope everyone realizes how much heart that takes to keep training like that! Most people would have given excuses and taken an easy road. Not you Man! That is a warrior mindset!
Take care Brother!
Now that your knee is feeling better, are you still doing your 1 hour walks every morning? Also, I haven’t seen it mentioned in a while, but are you still doing cardio after your lifting sessions?
I gotta commend you again on the work ethic and effort you’ve put in to this transformation. Truly inspiring, even if you are a UM fan.
PS - I hate all of you that live in warm weather. It was 4 degrees Fahrenheit Monday morning here. And yesterday I looked like a snowman after I got back from my walk.

one of my favorite songs, its through the fire and flames by dragonforce. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of (or played) the new guitar hero, but this song is in it and has popularized it

The thing about DragonForce is that while they are good, they make me laugh my ass off. For some reason, their songs are just hilarious.

I haven’t been doing the early morning walks as I have been walking to work and it’s the same path, just broken up into two parts.
As for the post-lifting cardio, I don’t do it right away because I don’t like spending hours in the gym. I’m usually done at the gym around 330 or 4ish. So I will come home, have my post session shake and wait until around 530 or 6 to go walk.
Another reason I wait is because it’s dark out when I go walk. So when I take the dogs, I can let them shit in people’s yard and not have to pick it up because they can’t see them actually doing it.

Do you listen to any three days grace?
I’ve been listening to them a lot.
Never really got into them. I did rock out to all Rise Against today though, with you as my inspiration!
I go through phases with my music, lately I’ve been on a Thrice kick. If you haven’t heard them, check out “The Artist and the Ambulance” …epic. I listened to that for the first part of the session today, then RA.
I’ve gotten any new really hard stuff in a while. I told myself the next two albums I will buy that are heavy will be Pantera’s “Vulgar Display of Power” and “The Great Southern Treadkill”. My two all time favorite metal albums.
You look younger. In your before pictures I would have guessed you at mid-30's, now you are looking like a man in his 20's.
Good job!
Hey man, keep up the great job. Funny you mention Pantera, I was listening to some Damageplan today…good shit.

Sadly, no it does not.
Yo man, how’s it all going? Dunno if you remember, but I mentioned earlier that I too have been dieting for the last 23 weeks, using the same protocol from CT’s refined transformation…I made plenty if dietery mistakes along the way, hence why I have not yet reached my goal of under 10% bf yet. I am switching to a more ketogenic style diet with one big carb up meal a week, instead of the once a week carb up, I was doing previously…Got a few questions for you regarding your training…as I am going to design one similar.
How many weight sessions are your performing a week…? 4?
Do you always do cardio immediatley before and after each session OR only certain sessions?
I need to make sure that my new program have enough work in it to keep fat loss going or better yet enhance it!..Currently doing 3 heavy sessions and 2 lactate sessions incl cardio after each session
thanks dude,
GJ

GJ, I am training 5 days a week, M/T/W/F/Saturday.
I usually never do my cardio immediately before or after, only when the weather is bad and I’m forced inside to walk on the treadmill.
If you are looking to design a new program, check out the one I am currently on. Its not to heavy but definitely challenging. You are super setting a muscle group followed my a metabolic thrashing with band work. CT wrote a huge article about on my main thread. Check it out, will definitely help.
As for cardio, go long my man. I hate doing 30 minute sessions and once it stops raining, I will be back to my one hour sessions.
Thanks for that Bartl…Yeah, I have been reading up all about the style of training you and CT incorparate.
I worked out that I would do:
Mon: Chest/Tri’s + cardio
Tues: Cardio only
Wed: Back/Bi’ + cardio
Thur: Legs + cardio
Fri: Cardio only
Sat: Delts + Cardio
Sun: Off
Dont know if I am asking too much…but I only came up with 4 days…what do u do n the 5th? Is it an arms session or something?
thanks alot
GJ

He does 2 legs workouts a week. Because of his leg injury he wasn’t able to train them for 3-4 weeks.
