They were two video’s of my hero Cam Neely…the GREATEST POWER FORWARD EVER IN PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY. He spawned a whole generation of hockey players.
Youtube Cam Neely, and when it comes up, look for volume 1 and volume 2. You will enjoy.
And never fret…pictures will be up tomorrow. My camera went shits up and had to wait until I got a new one. I will take some picts before I head down to OC (Orange County California).
Ahh - 30. I remember that time. I was studly then, like you are now. Things have changed a bit since then. When you turn 44, mother nature introduces you to tendinitis.
You share a birthday with Dr. Seuss and Karen Carpenter - a crazed author and an anorexic. Your writing is pretty good (and funny), and you are losing a lot of weight. But, don’t let those go too far, eh?

So sorry to hear about your friends’ dad. I know from experience how difficult this is. This may sound strange at first but even though it is horrible news and does not feel good to hear it, especially on your birthday, at the same time, there is also a gift attached.
It is a gift that your friend, who means so much to you, trusted you enough to share it with you even if it was a little later than you would have liked. It’s very hard to tell people about stuff like this.
First you have to try and wrap your own head around it. Then when you tell others you have to deal with their response to it on top of it. Their emotions. Their attempts to make you feel better which end up insulting/hurting or pissing you off because it sounds like they are not acknowledging how you feel and just minimizing the situation.
So you don’t tell many people. Just those closest to you. Just those you trust with your own heart. Because losing a parent is one of the hardest things in life. And even if you can’t be there for her physically all you have to do is call her regularly. Ask her how she is feeling. Listen. Acknowledge. Support. Love.
Something I noticed when I experienced a similar situation… the people closest to me were the least supportive and pulled away. Including my best friend. My co-workers and acquaintances were the most supportive. Always asking how I and my father were doing.
People closest to us, I guess, feel it more and so it’s more difficult for them. I dunno. Sorry for such a long, emotional post. Can’t help it, I’m a girl : ) Take care and happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Chris! Sorry to hear about your friends dad, that’s sure sucks.
I’m also looking forward to your pics this week. I’ve been following your PC since the beginning of Jan. And I don’t just mean following, I mean I’ve been doing it as well. So I’m a month behind you, but it’s nice knowing what I’ve got coming up in the next month.
I’ve dropped 32 pounds so far, and I’m 4 pounds away from 200. We’re both pretty similar is build, so it’s been awesome having someone to compare with.
I’m not envying you with this training week coming up. You’re gonna end up doing that fighting falling asleep-head bob thing in class, I can already see it. hehe.
Stay strong! 200 is in sight, soon you’ll be shooting for 190!
BTW - I just got word that I’ll be moving out to the west coast from Columbus, OH this summer. I have the freedom to move anywhere I want, and I’m thinking something along the lines of La Jolla. How would that compare with your neck of the woods, which also sounds very nice.

Congrats on the weight loss…thats awesome.
As for La Jolla, its northern San Diego and very nice. It is like Santa Barbara in the aspect that its very wealthy. Great golf courses…good surf.
You will like.
Personally, if I were to move to any part of San Diego, I would chose Del Mar. Small little surf town on the outskirts of SD.
Dude - you are really kicking ass (and losing ass, literally). The head shots are tremendous. I have a great Jabba-the-Fatass-Hut headshot of me that I keep as a constant reminder. Every time I see it, my next workout has the intensity, focus, and effort of a pissed-off madman.
