Here is how I cooked my cheat meal and dessert for tonight:
1 lb fat free ground turkey
15 oz fat free riccatta cheese
2 T fat free parmasean cheese
1 T Italian Seasoning
2 cans (28 oz) tomato sauce, there was less than 1 g sugar and I think each can had 50 calories
6 lasagna noodles
8 oz fat free mozarella
I think thats it.
I ground up the turkey meat and added some pepper for seasoning.
The lasagna noodles were normal ones, I couldn’t find whole grain noodles anywhere in town and I went to 4 stores. Anyways, boiled them up.
Mixed the riccatta, parmasean and italian seasoning together in a bowl.
Mix all but one cup of tomato sauce with ground turkey.
Put down one cup of tomato sauce on bottom of cooking pan. place lasagna noodles on top, then layer on cheese/seasoning mixture. Then layer down one cup of the meat and sauce. Sprinkle 4 oz mozarrella cheese. Repeat with remaining noodles, cheese mixture and meat mixture.
Make sure oven is preheated to 350 degrees. Cook lasagna for 40-45 minutes, let cool for 10 minutes.
The only thing I would change is maybe add some basil and/or oregano. Maybe a little more Italian seasoning…not quite sure though. This will take some tinkering to get the flavor right.
It is damn good though…my guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and as you can see by my main thread, there is none left.
The dessert is easy. Got some fat free-sugar free vanilla pudding mixture.
put pudding mix in bowl, add 2 cups skim milk, one scoop Vanilla Metabolic Drive and blend.
Once is set, put half in glass, add some fruit, I used a blueberry, raspberry, boysenberry mixture. fill rest of glass with pudding mixture and top with some fat free whipped cream.
that dessert looks pretty sexy. I am on the Velocity Diet at the moment so pictures of food are driving me crazy. I might try some of the meals you are using now for when i transition off the V-Diet. Keep up the good work man.
Bart - I also note that you’re taking 40 grams of glutamine a day - that’s like 8x a “standard” dose. Any reason you’re taking so much? And why not Glutamine Alpha-Ketoglutarate given it’s more readily absorbed?
I’ve been following your Clinic forum since day one. Lately you seem a bit hard on yourself and your accomplishments. I understand the psychological reasons behind this. To push yourself that much harder to reach your goals.
I just have to say that you’ve done in 2 months what it takes some 6 months to accomplish.
You are definitely on track, keep it up!

I’m actually no longer taking Glutamine. I have no idea as to why he had me loading it, except for maybe he wanted me to get a shit load of protein daily. Other than that, not quite sure why.

You’re right on that, I am my own worst critic. I guess that I have a vision in my head of what I am supposed to look like and since I don’t look like that I get harder on myself.
Kind of like, I don’t look like what I thought I would look like at 225. I think what I thought I would look like at 225 I will look like at 190, at least thats what I am hoping.
Also, messages and compliments from people like yourself help calm me down a little and help me focus on the long term aspect of this Clinic.
I know you’re not divulging any specific program data directly, but I was hoping you could answer a fairly simple question - has CT been giving you “explicit” routines, or have you been presented a list of exercises you can build from? I also want to try to duplicate some of the routines that you and Gus have followed, but my access to equipment is limited. How much leeway for improv have you been given? I know you’ve asked CT about a couple exercises and he gave you alternates…

Sorry I missed this Don. Not sure how that happened. Anyways, to answer your question, yes, he gives me extremely specific routines. Its exercise, reps, tempo, rest, intervals, metabolic exercises…etc. The only time I get lee-way is when I don’t have a machine or an exercise that I can’t do because of the lack of equipment. Then I make a suggestion as to something that we could switch with or just let his crazy french-canadian brain go to work for me.
As you can tell, he doesn’t like my gym very much.
hope this helps…good luck with the diet. keep me posted.
Who out there has tried Spike? I haven’t said anything to the coaches yet, but I really want to try it. I loved to drink Diet Rockstar as it has lower amounts of sugar in it (and it tastes better than regular RS).
SO, coaches, if you read this…do we get to try Spike? Please?

It’s not up to me. But honestly, it’s not part of my plan.
Thanks Bart, and no - you didn’t miss my posts. Apparently a glitch here “trapped” all my posts from the 22nd to the 26th - and after I contacted support they were able to “locate” a few of them…
Started mirroring your diet yesterday, pics go up tonight. OMG - 4 eggs and a cup of celery is a f**king trial by fire all its own…
Kinda crazy - but I’ve been taking HRX for a few weeks now - and they never lit me on fire like they do when combined with this diet. For the past 2 mornings I’ve felt like a human furnace.
It’s gonna be too hard to mirror your routines, but I’m doing Waterbury’s TBT and hope it’s adequate. I can tell ya, at 44 the pace is a bitch, so I can only imagine what you PC guys are enduring… I want to add some of the crazy “interim” stuff you guys have been doing (burpees, jumping jacks, whatever) but I’m having issues tracking all this crap as it is, so for now I’m just gonna get a couple weeks under my belt and “KISS”.
Speaking of tracking - I don’t know that I’ve seen you mention it, but what do you do to keep track of all this stuff (diet log, exercise log, etc). I’m always looking for shortcuts. Right now I’m, using Vida One for the diet and pen & paper for the workouts…
As yet another winter ass-kicking heads my way, I want to again thank you for the pictures of palm trees and tales of casual walks to the store (no doubt in shorts & a tee). Bastard
I’ve been keeping up with your clinic and I have a question about food prep (If you’ve answered this just say you have and I’ll search for the 3rd time - don’t want to re-ask a busy man a question). I have been cooking chicken and eggs for years, but I can’t ever keep them for more than 2 days without getting nasty. How long do you cook ahead for; if more than a day, how do you store them? freeze the chicken and eggs or just refrigerate in a plastic container?
I don’t take them often, but do they work for me!
I usually take them when I have a strenuously long day (helping a friend or family member move), or a long night ahead of me.
One Spike tablet goes a long ways for me!
I really haven’t taken Spike for working out yet. I do know that when I’ve helped someone move and took one in the morning I was at a steady pace the entire day and energy levels remained high.

For tracking, I don’t track anything. I keep every file that CT sends me in a folder on my desktop. For my food, I keep everything in my Outlook calendar telling me what to eat at what times.
For the training, I just keep everything in a notebook, then transfer it all to a spreadsheet that night.

For prepping the food, I cook the egg’s every morning fresh. I never thought of cooking them ahead of time because I didn’t think they would stay fresh. As for the chicken, I cook it for a week at a time. The only problem I have with doing that is that when you reheat it in the microwave, it gets really, really dry.
I just cook it up and keep it in a freezer bag in the fridge.
Ya know, I thought about doing that with Outlook but it’s “corporate based” and didn’t want my personal stuff visible (which it is, even if you mark it private). Right now I use my heartrate monitor/watch (it will do as many reminders as I want) - but I’ve also installed “Remember the milk” for GMail - if I figure out how to use it right it may be a good solution… http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/
Once I started doing the multiple meals, the supplements, the pre-workout/NEPA shakes, etc it became obvious that I need something to remind me constantly what to do.
another thing that helps me, is every two hours I should be eating, so I eat.
I also noticed that I get super cranky if I don’t eat every two hours and once I eat I feel better.
The supplements can be hard too. Its all repetition though as well, after about a week or so you will know something is wrong when you forget something.
I just spent the last 2.5 nights reading your whole Physique Clinic and just finished this thread.
Wow.
I’ve been really focused on gustavopacho’s Physique Clinic because that’s where I am. However, I was you just over a year ago with some differences.
36, fat as a kid, moderately chubby in HS, former hockey player and rower in college, so fit for a few years, married with two kids under 6, software developer (read sits all day), and ballooned to a whopping 242 at 5’9".
It took high cholesterol, a Lipitor prescription and a fat-ass work photo to re-flip the switch.
I lost 60 lbs in 6 months-- I could only have wished to have the PC coaches that you have-- and you are kicking ASS!!
I stalled for about half of last year because of a disc injury (and gained back some fat), which I’m still recovering from, but short of it is I’m down to 190 @ 16-17 BF with a goal of single digits (will start full strict V-Diet soon).
I have the utmost respect for you and the dedication you have to do this so quickly-- just AWESOME!!!
ROCK ON!
Question: Do you have any video or photo links to the high-speed metabolic band training that you’re doing?
Steely - it’s funny what triggers us. I am the camera bug in my circle of associates - so I am almost never in a photo.
Then I took a trip to the South Pacific and met a family that was on a year-long trek across the globe (he was a security engineer on the verge of burn-out and his boss gave him a year off with pay over having him quit)
Anyway - I ended up in his blog ( http://homepage.mac.com/ianandpaula/Menu7.html ) and saw myself in profile. That was it for me. I knew I was chubby, but it’s so different to see a photo…
