Giggity?
Just got back from my first official BJJ class and now I’m all hyper.
It was wonderful,I rolled with an Aikido guy, he was very cool about everything.
I now understand dd’s frustration with the gi. We did x-chokes with the gi. My natural instinct is to tuck my chin, which results in gi being rubbed against said chin. So, I have a bit of gi burn on my face. That was really the only negative.
I also think I now need to acquire my own gi, I borrowed one from the Aikido guy today, but don’t think that’s the way to go for the future.
I guess the most important lesson I learned today is that if you tap out too early, or too late you’re doing a disservice to both you and your partner.

We can have sleepovers, do each other’s hair…wait that was high school. Sometimes I am a odd duck, don’t mind me.

The odd ducks are the best ones. Thanks for the encouragement.

OHHH You’re talking about Jim Morrison.

Sounds like you are having fun…good. I don’t understand the gi thing. I am so happy our training center is gi pants or shorts along with training center logo t-shirt.

Oh Wol, I’m disappointed, how can you not immediately recognize the lizard king?
It is fun, and you were right about the whole thinking you’re big and you’ll be big thing (dd’s log). I went in thinking I was going to kick ass and it made everything easier.
I don’t think they regularly wear the gi. The coach had just gone to a seminar and learned a bunch about the minutiae of x chokes using the gi and so he wanted to show us that. Two days later though and my jaw is still sore.

That brings back memories. I used to do Karate, almost got to Black belt. Then my inability to commit kicked in and I quit.
Strangely enough, the only thing I’ve been able to commit to is music. 14 years of Trumpet playing. Yikes.

Too much time in the SAMA threads is rotting my brain.
I did NRs yesterday, and it was the last day I was supposed to do this set of movements.
MM
Plank 60sec, 30sec (some douche decided he had to step over me, so I got flustered and gave up)
RDL/ B Row - 75 3x6
Now that I know how to do this, it goes well.
A1 SL Squat - small step 3x6 ea side
I’ve started to put my toes on a plate, it forces me to drive through my heel.
A2 Assisted Pull up - -45 3x6
I have to actively think about tucking in my shoulder blades and using my lower traps for this. I often find myself doing some sort of weird shrug thing if I stop paying attention.
B1 Back Ext 12 3x6
B2 YTWL 5 3x6
I’m undecided about what I’m going to do next. I’ll pick something by friday. NRs is starting to get boring.

Really? I find that it revs my imagination right up. You must be doing something wrong.

He;s flirting with me, print and renton instead of the females.

So, I had a date tonite, but he canceled at the last minute. He asked if we could reschedule for tomorrow. I have a kettlebell adventure planned though, would it be a bad idea to just ask him to tag along? He doesn’t really work out.
Anyway, as a result I went to another BJJ class. I’m really loving this stuff. I’m going to have to start taking notes though, I don’t really remember the names for anything. I tend to forget anything past the fifth move of a sequence too.
Aikido guy did manage to repeatedly hit me in the solar plexus. The first time I’ve ever had the wind knocked out of me, man, it really is a shock to the system.

Screw you guys! I don’t flirt with dudes. I flirt with chicks. I spit so much game, I’m like a game dispenser.
Just you watch. My next victim will be none other than: Pch2. Watch me get the digits fellas.

Even more so when you have asthma.
What’s all this about you dating a guy who doesn’t lift?
Drop it like it’s hot when you’re workin’ that back…
Girl shake that thing yeah work that thing,
Let me see it go up and down…
Rotate that thing, I wanna touch that thing when you make it go round and round…
I’m wiped and my interwebz is being slow, so I’ll inform you all about kettlebells tomorrow. It is exhausting! Who would have thought moving 12kg around would be so taxing?
