Wends, we drilled the hip toss. You grab an arm and a lapel. Jerk him forward a bit to cause him to break base. Then step squatted down a little between his legs. Your hips should be lower than his. Then you straighten your legs and tilt a bit which rolls him over your hips and onto the ground on his back.
Coach told us to pair with someone of a similar size, which was the new guy standing next to me. He had had on a long sleeved rash guard, sweat pants that cuffed and socks. I mention his clothes because he kept slipping due to the socks.
I asked him why he didn’t just take them off. Why? He doesn’t like touching people. Really? Who does BJJ if they don’t like being in close contact with people? This is not the sport for people who have personal space issues.
If you can’t tell, I just didn’t like the kid. He actually just creeped me out. I was drilling and he was the dummy. So, basically my ass was on his crotch and I could tell he was really enjoying the drill.
What am I supposed to do in those cases? I don’t care if it’s an involuntary reaction, I don’t want to feel dick while rolling. I threw him really hard a few times, but then just let him throw me. How do I insure we’re never partners again?

Hee hee. you said you threw him really hard. No kidding.
All kidding aside, I don’t think you should have to put up with that sort of thing…you’re there to better yourself and your skills…and preoccupation of any sort (someone with THAT going on downstairs, body odor, bad breath) is going to detract.
He doesn’t like touching people, but apparently his little friend has no such issues.
I went out with the boys after class today (even though I don’t have the time). It was surprisingly fun, I need to be social more often. I got taken down and triangled though. It was kinda cute, some girl came over to save me. He was like oh, if it hurts she’ll tap.

I love those nights… the playful fighting, someone (that girl) wanting in on the action and being jealous of the fact that you’re playing with the boys…

I think she actually thought I was being hurt; she told her friend to call the cops. I wasn’t really paying attention to her though, I was on the floor trying to keep my shoulder in. I thanked her afterwards for trying to step in (people need to be encouraged to help those in need) but she was pretty drunk. Apparently the rule is when someone gets taken down it’s time to go home, lol.
Life’s busy, so for a while I’m just going to put in training highlights and amusing stories.
Monday: Escaping the arm bar. You see an arm bar coming, grab your bicep!
Wends: BJJ in the afternoon with a bunch of super hot people - DD, her coach, and Jane. Escaping the mount. BJJ at night with the boys, more escaping the mount!

It is, thanks for checking in, it just seems to be break up season and everyone is running away to me. I get to hear about how much men suck, and do a lot of shoe shopping. If I get anything good tomorrow I’ll post pictures.

Edit: Uh, so I didn’t mean you suck, I was attempting a gay joke. It sounded a bit assholey though I didn’t mean it to.
Honestly though, my friends date such losers. I feel like flying around the country breaking arms. If a guy tells you you’re intimidating, you don’t make yourself less intimidating for him, you find a stronger guy.
Though, this line of thinking may be why I’m spending my friday night listening to how great fucktard would be if only he’d smoke less weed and get a job.

That is fine, I have nothing against gay guys. This site is loaded with them but only a few are out.

lol
Fucktard would be great if he were a different person!
I too miss your adventures. Especially after the boy made me (okay he didn’t make me, I kind of wanted to) watch UFC on the weekend. One of the fighters was a black belt in BJJ and hearing them use all the terms YOU use to describe your BJJ when they were on the ground fighting made me want to hear more about your adventures now that I can understand
Yes I’ll admit, I didn’t understand guard/half guard/mount/etc until watching UFC. How pathetic am I? Lol.
To follow Courts lead I had some sort of allergic reaction on Monday Morning, and then managed to just further damage myself throughout the week.
I’ve managed to bruise my rib pretty badly, it makes it’s presence known when I do things such as breathe and move. I’ve also got a tiny little hairline fracture in my left ankle.
I’m home for the weekend, but will start taping and adventuring again when I’m back at school.
Last week’s training theme was sweeps I went to three classes. We did rib breaking hip stacks, knee drive through reversals, and something he called the matador sweep.
The guys have picked up a way to triangle while in half guard so I’ve been having to be creative with getting out of that. I have been using spider guard from DD’s Coach a lot lately though, and they have yet to master breaking grips!

Ha! That’s pretty much what every woman says! :^P
Really though, this one’s a winner. He went on ‘vacation’ in Mexico at the beginning of the summer and has since decided to just stay down there to ‘get high and enjoy the culture.’ Fucktard.
Thanks, I just needed an adventure logging break, I’ll get back to it for you though.

It’s great to watch once you know a little of what’s going on isn’t it? It’s not just two guys wailing on each other, but all a bunch of planned out action to reaction steps.
Oy, I’m doing it and barely understand what’s happening. Sometimes I’ll be rolling and someone will try to coach me along by yelling words I don’t know.
You’ve got an omaplatta!
Uh, thanks, now what is that?

Toreando! We’ve been doing that,too!
Steve says come on Sunday morning and if you show him the move he’ll teach you how to completely shut it down.
We learned the De la Riva sweep in two variations.
Dude, I passed Jane’s guard three times.
I miss you and I want to play some more.
You’re the fun one.
Sunday kid, watch your back, lol.
The other day one of the guys at lab offered to walk me to my car since it was 2:30am and ‘If I was going to mug anyone, I’d mug you.’ I then told him how fun it is to get someone’s back and sink the perfect choke.
(I still let him walk me though, because even if I can defend myself, I don’t want to have to.)
