This thread is meaningless without training entries from Pch2!
I tapped a kid for the first time today!
I started in a more dominant postion, and was way stronger than him , so it’s tapping with a grain of salt, but tapping none the less. I some how managed to get his back and then when he tried to get out I followed and managed to get him on his stomach, from there it was a very messy mostly muscled rear naked choke.
He’s a fellow newish white belt, so he went 100% and it really brought out the rage in me. (He’s probably a few inches taller than me, but has no muscle mass, so we’re most likely similar weights.) He wasn’t holding anything back. It was the first time anyone’s really been willing to put pressure on my face. He was going for a choke, and since I have traps I brought them up and tucked my chin. It really protects the neck well. He then decided to grind against my chin/ face. I managed to get to my side and get out, but no one’s ground like that before, it was a bit shocking.
After I got over the shock I was pissed the fuck off though. Couch is always saying - you don’t touch my pretty face, my precious neck or my stinky armpit. He tried to get them all!
Other than with this kid (they aren’t actually kids - he’s 24), I’m still rolling with too much muscle. I keep getting - you’re really strong - from kids I haven’t rolled with before. I’m beginning to remember technique while rolling, which is sweet.
We learned a gi choke from closed guard, and triangle from closed guard.

Aikido guy didn’t show up today. I covertly asked where he was, and it turns out that he’s sporadic during the school year because he’s the college’s Aikido club advisor. If he’s going to be intermittant, I’m going to make a move (sorry dd, I just don’t want to wait too long, otherwise we’re just going to be good friends). So, I’m thinking of asking him why he hasn’t asked me out yet.
For other boy news, I think the kid I tapped out tried to ask me out after class.
Me: I’ll see you wends
Kid: I don’t think I’m coming to class on Wends, I feel like going out.
Me: I don’t think I’d pick the bar over BJJ.
Kid: Everyone needs to go out once in a while, you should go out with me.
Me: Maybe on a non-BJJ day, I do make a great wing, girls love me.
Kid: Yeah I can see why

I don’t know, I was fairly confused for most of the conversation. I had just tapped the kid out, and he’s young.

So that’s two guys who show interest in you that have been shot down. But the one guy who plays hard to get and may not even like you is the one you’re chasing. Isn’t life strange.

Yeah, but people are slow, and if I’m going to put myself out there I don’t want to be rejected because he’s confused. Note my conversation with the kid, I didn’t even understand what was going on until it was over.

The surefire way to go is to simply jump on him and kiss him. If he’s into you he’ll love it and ask you out. If he’s not (as hard as that is to believe), then you will become residents of Awkwardville.

I lifted today. It was another fat weak girl day, but it was the last one. I haven’t done normal lifts in a while, I’m chalking this week up to warm-up. I’m kicking ass next time.

I think I can work at around 80 next time for 5x5.

This was just sad, I haven’t done a back squat in a long time. I could have gone heavier but I was being a little girl. In the middle of my last set some guy came over and told me to put more weight on the bar. Next time I’ll start heavier.
I bought new workout pants. I was under the impression my ass looked good in them, but I think Court’s tree trunk day is spilling over onto me. If my legs are going to be this big, I should be squatting more. I still like the little bows.
On a high note though, I met a pilates instructor at the grocery store that said she’d comp me a class. I’ve never done pilates with the machines before, it’ll be an interesting adventure.
If you feel like squatting 100lbs is little girl like, then I’m a little girl too!
The point is that we do our best every time, and try to improve upon the last workout…
So the next time you squat you will do better!
Have you tried unilateral work to build your squat up?
Maybe insert some Split Squats into your workouts for a few weeks, increasing the weight each week. I’m sure Court or myself could dig up one of her earlier workouts where she used to be off balance and curse at me when supersetting Front Squats and BSS. I’d say about a year ago she was probably Front Squatting 30 or 40lbs and did BSS without weight. Now she’s got tree trunk legs and can squat 225+.
Just an approach to think about.

Ugh I actually looked at that old workout last night when I was digging through to find something to do. It was about 6 months ago cuz I didn’t venture over to the weights til end of January. I know you’re putting a lot of focus onto BJJ right now, but if you want it let me know. I’ll send a picture of Todd with it so you can swear at him like I used to. It makes you feel better ![]()
