Partying and strength

I did a all nighter to watch UFC in from the UK and drank

Two days later in the gym I feel weaker is this a thing or just a off day

Poor sleep and drinking alcohol often results in poor physical performance.

You should have lifted while drunk.

You’d have uninhibited strength.

This requires far more research.

Try a 6 week block of alternating the following:

Day 1: Training
Day 2: Drinking alcohol/not sleeping

After this 6 week block, measure your PRs.

Then transition into this 6 week block, alternating the following days:

Day 1: Training
Day 2: Not drinking alcohol/sleeping

Recheck your PRs. Report back to us.

I used to do this a lot. Just hanging out, drinking beer & lifting. Its all fun & games till dude shows up with the booger sugar.

I’ve actually done close to this.

My routine used to be
Monday - Upper
Tuesday- Lower
Wednesday - Open mic night, beers and cocaine
Thursday - Rest/Pub Quiz (5-6 pints)
Friday - Upper + 10 or more pints
Saturday - Depending on whether I managed to stay away from cocaine on Friday either another night out (with definite cocaine) or a full rest day.
Sunday - Rest or A half-assed light lower session.

I actually trained like this for my entire first year and made some decent progress in terms of strength. It was often 1 bad session, 1 good session rather than cashing in on consecutive good ones though. Pretty soon it would grind to a halt though and the less I managed to drink, the further I would get before the halt happened again.

Thankfully I managed to get away from the circle I was hanging around with at the time and better my life.

I would land me on some kind of list if I followed this advice in the LA gyms I train in.
Maybe some DMs too, but definitely on a list.

I replaced cocaine with this

Possibly even more addictive

Does it not have the side-effect of ending up in a randoms kitchen at 6am with mostly people you barely know, and the ones you do know you never really liked anyway?
