Our Version of World's Strongest Man

So a friend of mine and I are planning to do our own version of Worlds Strongest Man. We plan to have a:

EDITED

Farmers Walk with 110lb dumbells for 50 yards or so

Deadlift without belt for reps (probably light like 225 or so)

Press for reps (probably again not too heavy 150 lbs or so)

Sled race for 50 yards and back (light probably 200lbs)

Car Push for 10 yards

Winner of each event gets 5 points, second place gets 3 points, third place gets 1 point.

I’m hoping to put in some more events but I can’t think of any that I can do with simple equipement. (I’ve already thought of squating 225 for reps, but I can’t exactly bring a cage into the field where we are doing this). This is a high school competition and mostly for fun. Any ideas you guys have for events or rules or whatever would be grately appreciated.

Are you still in Mass? That state’s a hotbed of strongman contests - why not find one and compete? They’re a lot of fun, even if you don’t come close to winning.

80lbs dumbbells is pretty light, I’d up it to 100 or more if you have the weights.

let me know where this is being held so i can crush you!!!

ps wot are points redeemable for?

Sounds damn fun. Nothing else to add, sorry.

I am still in Mass, but I kinda wanted to do a strongman contest for kids I go to school with and myself, hence the 80lb dumbbells. I’m actually already looking to competing in powerlifting right now, but I’ll be sure to check out some strongman contests. Thanks.

points add up, person with the most points at the end wins.

Points=Ladies…duh

Yeah but do the points correlate to money value or prizes. For example a Schrute Buck is equal to 1/100th of a cent. Or five points are equal to a pack of gushers and can be redeemed at the prize closet.

OOOHHHH.

Maybe you could have a verson of the keg tossing event. And instead of the clean and press, have it just be a press. Like they only have to clean it once and the rest is just pressing, just because this is a more traditional strongman event. Or something like the atlas stones? Heavy dumbells or something like that that they have to lift and place on platforms of some kind.

Points equal to money. Person with the most point as in the greatest total of points gets half of the pot or total amount of money we get. (We’re charging people $5 to enter)

How do we do keg tossing lol? Even if I get a keg, just pick one up from any football team party, and fill her up, I can’t possibly make a banner tall enough for people to throw over it lol.

Ha well that’s why a version, not an actual keg, perhaps a heavy dumbell or something and throw for distance.

Pony keg would work.

that’s cool man.

what age group is it?

i wish i had shit like this when i was in hs

Yeah there are small kegs dude. I’m obviously not gonna be able to hurl a full keg. I’m curious if there is a way to do a bench press for reps, without a bench.

All high schoolers, but since our high school blows donkey balls, probably only seniors and myself (a junior)

How about a car or truck push? One of you guys drives, right?

Maybe some kind of toss or throw. A medicine ball? A shot put? Even a plate or dumbbell if you do this on grass.

And that farmers is way too light, even for beginners. If you are going to go that light make it harder somehow. Maybe use barbells instead of dumbbells.

It’s open to all people so a few college friends might show up but it should be mostly high school seniors and myself (junior). Go to your local high school football coach and pitch him the idea.
