Only Problem is the Food

Hello T-Nation family I’m currently deployed to Afghanistan right now and I been following Chad Waterbury’s Total Body Workout in the beginners section I stand at about 6’4 and weight about 320. I’m trying to drop some fat and weight out here except the only problem is the food. I mean it’s hard to eat healthy I’ve stay away from fat foods eat any veggies that i recognize and stop drinking soda and Gatorade.

I drink 3 liters of water a day lift 3 times a week, perform 20 minutes of cardio after every workout and 30-35 minutes of cardio on non lifting days. I bought some HOT-ROX Extreme which I take as soon as I wake up on an empty stomach, I bought some Metabolic Drive Low Carb protein powder which I consume about 40grams before every lift day, I take Surge Recovery after I finish lifting, and eat a piece of fruit before I go to sleep. I also consume BCAA"s and fish oil with every meal.

I know I’m very new to this weight lifting world and have a lot to learn but I GAINED about 10 pounds in 2 weeks not what I was looking for any ideas what I’m doing wrong. I plan to add a lot more fruits and veggies once my deployment is done in 3 and a half months. But here in Afghanistan you have to eat whats served should I try to eat a salad if veggies aren’t available? My goal is to drop about 75 pounds before the summer of next year. Is that realistic? Please any and all advice is welcomed.

I’d try and lift more frequently if possible something like 5/3/1 or this:

Take the HOT-ROX before you work out.

Go for salad if can’t get veggies.

75 lbs is do-able by next summer.
