I’ve decided to put my money into buying some olympic weights, here are the two that I like. Both packages come with a bar.

Both have free shipping, which should I get? They both seem like very good quality equipment.
I’m going to make my own platform off the ironmind template and I plan on buying a pair of vulcan racks.

i think pendlay weightlifting bar are guranteed for life, plus you are in texas which is where that stuff is shipped from.
I’d get the Pendlay. It’s had a lot of good reports, whereas I’ve never heard of the other one. A quick Google reveals they also make fluffy coloured dumbells though.
I used to use the Pendlay bar for training, its actually quite nice.
Are they any other ways to build a platform? Or is the one on ironmind the easiest and best?

I went to the tractor supply store and bought four 4’x6’ rubber mats. They work nicely.
You can get fancy and add plywood if you feel like it.
get pendlay. they are said to be really good and the other company… bumper plates in lbs? pfft!
Platform : stall mats. simple and effective.

Yeah, you basically described my home gym.
Which mat do you think I should get? I think the Max Tuff might be the strongest because the tensile strength is 600 PSI while horse stall is 100
get the matts that are for weights. there designed for that. why get something made for horses
Because horse matts are cheaper, and horses weigh a fucking ton!
the maxx tuff matts look stronger than the horse mats and I think are around the same price
the horse stall one is similar to the one in my school. we use bumper plates all the time. i just wish we had a real platform though. but i dont think the horse stall one is exceptionally wonderful.
