I have been working out steadily for the last year or so on a program based off power cleans, snatches, and overhead pressing. However, I feel that my aesthetics could use some fine tuning. The probelm I face is that I HATE body part training. I just don;t feel a workout is complete without squats, cleans, or snatches. Can I perform these everyday even while trying to get bigger or am i just setting myself up for failure?
Youre not setting yourself up for failure at all. You’ll still make progress, just on the parts you work.
If youre bulking for aesthetics, there are much more specific programs for you. You can try almost any Chad Waterbury plan for hypertrophy.
try a more specific program, seriously dude CT has written tons and not just with this HS100 series, but his other specialization programs are fucking amazing
he did do a program specifically for hypertrophy using olifts but its in his book… i wouldn’t feel right posting that.
How about incorporating a couple of total body hypertrophy sessions on top of a couple of o lifting days? that way you’ll leave only a couple of CNS demanding sessions/week. Something like:
Monday: Snatch (work up to a max)
Front squat (work up to a triple)
GM (work up to a triple)
Tuesday: Waterbury- style tbt session (4 sets of 6)
Thursday: Clean and jerk (work up to a max)
Back squat (work up to a triple)
Snatch grip dead (work up to a triple)
Friday: Waterbury- style tbt session (3 sets of 8)
Another option might be using a Staley type routine usng an o lift as the core movement folowed by EDT style hypertrophy work.
