I feel like he is trying to gain the most hype just so his name can compete with the bigger names on stage. Smart move on his part.
Its down the middle… can’t you see it? Its literally splitting.
I’m interested to see left and right simultaneously. He’s definitely getting shredded.
2 weeks to go! Saw an awesome pic of Victor Martinez as well, and apparently Kuclo has a not “gym mirror” pic.
Jay is looking HOOOOOGE on his new vid.
Gotta say, there are several names who, all hype aside, could potentially walk away with the win this year. I just read somewhere else where someone pointed out that not since Haney, Yates and Dorian, has the outcome of an Olympia contest been an easy prediction.
Even though Jay technically won 4, you could argue all but 1 of them ('09) as being in less than a dominating fashion.
With Phil, he won his 1st because Jay was off, took his 2nd despite losing the prejudging (pick any explanations you’d like), but I don’t think anyone who truly follows the sport believes he’s just going to walk in and take another Sandow without one hell of a fight.

You know who I’d like to see come in as a total dark horse? Roelly. Dude has some awesome triceps and shoulders - my two personal best bodyparts imo, and had a good showing at his pro win this year. I’d love to see him “come out of nowhere” as far as talk and get a top 5 finish. I think he’s got the physique, he’s just never shown it.
I highly expect a lot of ooh’s and awe’s this year. There was a pic of Rammy getting picked up by Dennis James at the airport. He always has that innocent child smile. I like Rammy, he just seems like he has a cool demeanor. Always happy, always smiling, just excited to be where he is.
I KNOW THIS A MR. OLYMPIA thread but this is the 1st year of Women’s Physique at the O.
Having a lady who trains physique, DLB and her rise has interested me. personally, i think what her and Rob have carved fro themselves is pretty damn cool!
****also- i always root for Victor, the dude has walked through FIRE – beast! so much loss and setback. EVERY DAY - WE ALL WAKE, THEN PRESS FORWARD!!!
^^those delts and traps!
^^^ Any body else think she was going to start curling that?

If she had started curling that, I am done. I would quit and just sit on my ass and watch tv.
She has a great upper body, but I feel her legs are lacking comparatively.

It has got to be hard for her to bring her legs up to match those monster delts. I will say I think her legs have a nice quad sweep but lack separation. But that might just be the case for most women.
Arent over-developed legs kind of frowned upon in physique? Maybe I am wrong there as I confuse the categories, but if so maybe the legs are on purpose.

After a quick google search there seems to be a full spectrum of leg development between physique competitors. They might still be figuring it out since it is relatively newer.

Actually everyone’s Bicep splits down the middle only most guys posting on the internet haven’t achieved Olympian Competition Bodyfat Levels, it’s called a “Bi” cep for a reason, it’s composed of two distinct heads with their own origin but sharing a common insertion being that they run parallel to each other, ie Biceps Brachii Latin for two headed muscle of the arm, there is a video clip on youtube of Larry Scott giving a seminar and he literally sticks his finger inbetween the two heads of his still impressive Olympian Arms.

His gut lookin real big in that video.
Bodyguard, I know I was joking, heh :P.
Its really funny that Women’s Physique is a rather decent amount of musculature and the girls get incredibly lean. Compare that to the Men’s Physique and its somewhat funny in comparison on “effort” by appearance.
Jamie Pinder will be there this year as well. She is a member of Team Starnes. I wish her the best of luck! Going to be pretty cool to be a part of the “first ever”. It will also help the competitors set a precedent for what they should aim for physique-wise.
And as this is an Olympia thread, anything relating to the Olympia is welcome… even Physique. Also Victor’s wife is gorgeous, saw a picture of her on another forum. He’s done well for himself all things considered.
