Anyone have any opinions on ART for thigh/hip pain? And reasons not to? I think I have knots in my quads that are bothering my PSOAS. Not sure though but rolling on a tennis ball gets rid of it temporarily.
I had Graston technique done on my iliopsoas complex and sartorius. Hurt like a bitch but my pain was gone immediately.
I have no personal experience as it pertains to ART and pain and olympic lifting, but I can’t see how it would be a bad thing. Definitely worth a shot I’d say. Also, is psoas supposed to be in all capitals?
EDIT: Reasons not to → could induce tears
or maybe that’s just me
No the all caps was me, not sure why I did that
I just got back from being all stretched out and mangled and poked at and it felt pretty good actually. She said it would be uncomfortable but it wasn’t.
I’ve never been a to a chiropractor before and I am generally unreasonably skeptical of everything We’ll see how that goes. I didn’t tell her what I thought was wrong but she came to the same conclusion.

Chiropractors are awesome. Just get one who is ART qualified, and who didn’t get his DC like 30 years ago, lol. My guy graduated in 2007 but he’s awesome. Going him tomorrow actually to get some work on my right QL.
The woman I saw was like 14 years old lol. I feel like I was hit by a truck now She tried to in a round about way suggest I go easy doing snatches for a couple of days if I must do them.

probably a good idea… you can bruise up quite easily when doing ART/Graston and that’s the soft tissue/whatevers being broken up, so let it rebuild. I had purple coloring on my hip (from Graston) for a good 4-5 days.

Caught a 175kg clean and jerk on film today. The recovery on the jerk was a fair bit more work than the only other time I’ve hit this weight, but still good. As a bonus the film includes me flubbing a 180kg clean twice.
175 really solid mate!
180 racked well on the 2nd rep after the recovery, just no squat left in you, may have gotten it had you racked it the first time. Soon my friend!

Sick lifting Jonty! Very impressive.
Koing, on your entry form to the English, what is the qualifying total for a 94 lifter? On the website it says 240 and on the form it says 232??
I my coach received an email from bwla saying they wanted the coach of the club to enter their lifters for the English so I haven’t seen the form. I checked and you can appyly online now but I can’t see the qualification standards.

I decided not to lift for two days. Don’t like it though! Hopefully I can get back to squatting every day again soon. I’m getting stronger in the lifts so I shouldn’t worry about it but I feel like I’m going to get weak.

I still wanna be able to squat a house, regardless of whether the extra strength is helping my lifts or not lol.

The weather was freaking awesome today. January 6th and it was like 60 or 70 degrees out. Solid day of lifting.
decided to start adding the o lifts to my workouts, been squatting everyday
then cleans,
at 60 kg my forearm (of my dislocated shoulder) hurt so much i couldn’t move it. Had to call it early. Still feel like a train wreck overall.
For anyone that’s been training hard everyday did you just push through these injuries and make it out or did you stop heal them up and start over?

That sucks rehanb_bl sounds like you need to give it more time.
I need some blocks, the ones at the gym are just below knee level which is the worst spot ever. Yesterday i used straps and tape the living f@ck out of everything and it seemed to hold up pretty fine, although I was only doing snatch pulls.
Had 135 kg on the bar for a few sets of 3.
The discouraging fact was that bryan marshall was in there training a few days ago and he was snatching that weight like it was a broomstick, and I am 3 weight classes above him!
