Good to see you had faith in The System to start it
Back off the squats. Only moderately heavy singles. Don’t go too crazy now. You have 7 days till the comp. Aim to hit starters and FS to a heavy single. No doubles.
After the comp you need to have at least 3-4 attempts at a heavy Sn each session. You need to feel the weight. On the CJ go 2-3 attempts when your feeling strong and on it.
I agree. I usually have people go to 90%ish or so, just to warmup before the lifts. No doubles.
On the lifts, I agree as well. At least be hitting 1st and 2nd attempts regularly, and a third if youre feeling decent.

lol dude I’ve been really unpredictable on the Sn…but the past 4-5 sessions have been better, a bit more consistent.

Not ever? My last three nights have been terrible and I seem to be getting weaker. My ‘rest day’ I did a few deadlifts and rows so it wasn’t a real rest day. Probably not getting good enough sleep. It’s the weekend at least and I’m going to sleep until noon tomorrow. Last weekend went really well and I hope this one does too. Also I hurt my wrist a little playing cubicle volleyball (oops!).
Uncle’s Gold medalist get right back to training straight after the Olympics LOL.
Get some wrist wraps. It’ll help just give you some support when you lift often.

Back Squat PR! 175 kg, after completing Smolov Jr for the second time.
This is a 7 kg jump from my last PR, after two injuries and getting sick, so I’m pretty happy with it. Attempted 179 but missed, I’m gonna try that again on Monday.
My snatches sucked and I’m going to try them again later but my clean and jerks went awesome! My best clean & jerk was 63kg and I did a good 65kg jerk off the boxes quite a while ago and my 67kg clean the other day was a PR. But tonight:
doubles up to 63kg
63x1
65x1 (PR)
67x0 - missed jerk
67x1 (PR)
69x0 made the clean (clean PR) chickened out on the jerk. I could have done it too. Next time!
70x0 I HAD the clean but was surprised and then lost it in front >:( I’m going to be clean & jerking 70kg before this week is done!
My jerks weren’t the prettiest but they weren’t difficult either once I got the balls to get under.

Just shows what you have to work on then ;)
If I had to get my 1st and 2nd attempts I’d have to start on 70kg…thats about the only consistent weight. 90 has been ropey as f0ck…100 has been better, 110 has been better recently and same with 115.
I may just go mental lol…I’ll see what sort of state I am going in as. Shoulders feel good, body feels good, last time when I was warming up my shoulders felt off.
I was super consistent before I left for San Fran man! I was hitting 120 every session!

Yeah but I’m an old woman!
Actually it seems to work well for the clean and jerk to go every day but the snatch seems to suffer. I wonder if my speed and coordination suffers when I’m not fresh, whereas my strength is fine.
I got some wrist wraps. My wrist problem seems to be related to work. It gets a lot better on the weekend even though I train more.

Hows your training?
Koing
Means you gotta come back Training, like the knee, is going well right now.
Good to hear mate.
I’ll be back sometime next year then we can really do battle
Wed I’m going to take only 10kg jumps and focus on finishing and staying over the bar more. Since I hurt my shoulders my timing has gone off a bit. 9 days ago I hit 125 but it took 14 misses to get there…CJ 152.5 first time and nearly had 155.

Sn is affected more by speed then the CJ. CJ is all about strength, Sn about finese and speed.
Go as heavy as you can for the day. Don’t go crazy, sasy 5-10kg below what you did the previous day.
Sn- bar
40x3
60x2
80x1
90x1
100x1 (smoooooked)
105x0 (should’ve had it, damn right elbow buckled and I lost it)
105x0 (out front)
105x0 (out front)
105x0 (out front)
CJ- 40x4
70x3
93x1
107x1
113x1
118x1
123x0 (clean out front)
123x0 (overpulled, fell on my ass)
123x1 (tough, got pulled onto my toes a tad, but recovered and got it)
debra - i used to snatch every day and i loved that! didn’t always work to max… but felt great doing that every day. cleans i find hard work, though. real grind. the days my snatches don’t feel good tend to be the days i do really well on my squats. guess because i can do the grind even when the CNS is a bit fried.
paperclip - debra sure is strong! she’s got a lot more in her oly lifts yet!

What do you do for work?

I guess as my lifts get better it gets harder to go to 100% so that’s a good thing.
I’m a programmer and lately I’ve been doing a lot less straight coding on the keyboard and a lot more stupid drag and drop bullshit and the mouse work is killing me.

I am sick and I tried to do some snatches and it was pathetic. I got up to 45kg and had to give up. What a waste of supplements too! I thought since it’s just a cold I’d be fine but I guess not lol.
I feel like I’ve mentioned this to you in the past, but I had similar issues when I was going to max every single session. I’ve had a lot of success lately taking a couple days a week to do heavy doubles and heavy pulls for triples, although to be fair I’ve been putting a lot more emphasis on my technique lately than I have basically since I started this crazy sport and so the extra reps have been very beneficial in that regard. That’s just what seems to be working for me though, and the cause of your loss of groove could be one of a thousand things that didn’t make it into this thread that I don’t know about.

Funny how it’s the little things that mess you up sometimes, eh? I got a guitar for my birthday about a month back, and trying to practice daily, I’ve noticed a little bit of wrist soreness just from that extra stimulus.

That isn’t the guitar brah…it should be plenty strong now!
