Well, though I have competed in the 77kg category I’m now in the 69kg (though at the high end) and I intend to stay there as I believe I’ll be more competitive.

Hey, guys. After a three and a half year hiatus from competing and a year and a half w/o so much as touching a weight, I’ve decided to return to competitive lifting. I’ve spent the past six months getting back into competitive shape and, though I haven’t quite reached my all-time best lifts, I’m pound-for-pound a little stronger than I was before.

My best lifts at 74kg bw were: snatch 92.5kg, clean and jerk 115kg, back squat 147.5kg, and front squat 137.5kg. At 68.5kg bw, my current lifts are: snatch 87.5kg, clean and jerk 105kg, back squat 142.5kg, and front squat 130kg. My goals are to snatch 92.5kg and clean and jerk 112.5kg and to total 200kg in comp by february/march.

I use to train with a Bulgarian/Greek methodology, 11 sessions a week w/ 8 of those sessions going to maximum (95%+). These days I have other priorities, so I’ll only be training 5-6 sessions a week w/ only 3 max effort sessions.

Anyway, I’ll be updating my training here. I’ll try to post some vids if I can get a hold of a camera. I no longer have a coach or a team now, so I could use the feedback![/quote]

I got a 80kg snatch today which is a PR (but now my BW is 75kg)! No second attempt because when I about to try it, the coach called for a briefing!!! Still, I’m happy that I managed to increase my snatch by 5kg.

I’m on the BULK PHASE now. Going to actually have my protein shakes now. Really stack it on thick and strong. I’m about 96.x in the mornings now I reckon. I’ll see when I compete on Saturday! I think this is the heaviest I’ve ever been!

3 shakes a day in addition to my normal eating.

All my plates are actually in pounds, I just write my lifts in kg’s when I log them haha. So the minimum next step up for me is like 102 and some change (225 lbs), can’t take 101. I have snatched 225 lbs once though, and I’ve now done 220 lbs(100 kg) like 5 or so times and have become pretty comfortable with it and will start taking more attempts at 225lbs soon.

Been a lurker for a while - thought I’d finally get involved and start posting!

I’ve been lifting on and off for a about a year and a half now, and am currently training at uni. I’m a 77 lifter. I miss the atmosphere of being around weightlifters - hopefully posting will keep me motivated! Plus some critique is always helpful for a relative amateur such as myself. PBs are currently 80/100.
