Dude, do some warm up work! I go through phases where I think band work and mobility work is important and phases where I don’t pay it much mind but I never jump straight into working sets.
Just scrolled to a spot in my log where when I was running 5/3/1 FSL, that was my warmup progression.
Deadlifts (340 - 430 are the working sets)
Band pulldowns x 10
Band pull throughs x 10
DL: 135 x 5, 225 x 5, 275 x 4, 315 x 3, 340 x 5, 385 x 5, 430 x 10 (PR), 340 5 x 5
For upper (no longer doing 5/3/1) the other day
Incline bench using rest pause (85 is the only working set)
40 x 10, 55 x 6, 70 x 6, 85 x 27 (15,7,5)
I also included 2 sets of facepulls because my shoulders seem to like them.
After my first major lift I do less warming up, especially if I’m hitting an adjacent muscle (e.g., shoulders after chest) but I still do some.
