I hear ya. The crazy thing is that my calories aren’t even that low. I don’t diet by tracking calories, but I did total up what I’m eating daily and I’m still at 2500-2600. Though it’s to the point over half that is protein and I’m still highly active. It really puts someone as big as cbum getting down to like 1800 calories in perspective for me.
Woke up at 179.8 this morning so the added carbs didn’t show up on the scale either. I may need to play around with cycling in some carbs weekly. My training yesterday was also pretty brutal, so I may need to preemptively match my diet to my training instead of reacting after I crash.
It’s funny the deeper I get into this the more I end up doing things like bro science bodybuilders. All those little things I kind of always thought we’re BS end up seeming to matter.
I was listening to a Paul Carter podcast while I was mowing the lawn yesterday and him and Chris Duffin talked about this; these things don’t matter until you get lean enough for them to matter. Much like Phil Heath’s “tilapia thins the skin” comment, maybe that makes no sense when you’re 20% bodyfat…and maybe it makes TOTAL sense when you’re clocking in at 5.
335lb attempt. I’m not certain this is my max, mostly because I felt one maybe two more reps in there somewhere. However…I’m a tad bit high on depth, I think? Either way, yay me.
Looked pretty good to me @planetcybertron, can see the hips drop into the hole so I reckon depth was fine. That camera angle doesn’t really help with depth.
Isn’t standard carb-up (meaning just eating as much sugar as you can) length for a photo day 2 weeks? Just to fully fill glycogen of course. Asking for a friend.
178 this morning, which was my goal. Morning pics bellow. We changed light fixtures in the bathroom and it’s washing out a bit so I took some close ups. Trying some carbing up today.
