Most improved after spending a few months blowing the challenge. I’m in that with you, lol.

I’ve been having a hard time. I got the dog, which is a small time-suck, then I took a half-time job and had to smush my private practice caseload into the other half of the week, and then my son came home for a few weeks. His bedroom is my home office, and when I have to take it over he goes into my workout room to game and hang out. So he’s all up in all of my spaces. He’s said over and over again that it’s fine if I work out while he’s sleeping, but it’s loud and he works evenings. While I’m willing to inconvenience him, it’s like the slight guilt I feel is enough to tip the balance and make me think “or I could just stay snuggled in bed for an extra 30-45 minutes” and decide I’ll just work out tomorrow. I also irritated my neck and shoulder pretty badly, which now happens every time I mess with weights or the erg. So I need to I guess look into what’s actually going on with it.

And then blah blah company and blah blah surprise birthday party and etc, and I’m just a giant lazy loser. I am down 7 pounds from Jan 1, two of which have happened this week because I’d started gaining again and because we’re in the home stretch.

So my current plan is to diet down and try really hard to get my workouts back on track. I may not finish though.

On the up side, I’ve decided to go to full time with the hospital’s clinic, but it’s only a .8 position, so I’ll be working M-Th 9-5 starting in September. I’m super excited about it. I don’t think it would ever have occurred to me to seek out a 32 hr/wk job, but someone is retiring, so I’ll step into it, and I’m thrilled. It’s enough money to continue saving aggressively and spending normally, and I love having coworkers and a sense of mission, which has been missing with the private practice.

For the second year in a row, on paper, nothing has changed for me.

I’m still floating around 206-208 lbs as of last week sometime, but I have been breaking PRs the past few weeks. Pretty excited with my progress through the transformation so far.

June is gonna happen either way, so it’s really a matter of how you finish.

(not busting your ladyballs, trying to be encouraging-with a copious helping of knowing how life gets in the way).

I finished at 215 last year which was my start weight this year. I got down to 200, then went up to 220, I’m back down to 206 today. I’m undecided whether to try and keep dropping weight, or finish at 215 again.
It would be nice to compare 3 photos at 6 months intervals, all at the same weight (assuming there has been a positive change)

Check in, I’m actually doing this thing. With 0 rhyme or reason. Just trying not to pass out in my 110 degree garage every day lol. Also, ignore my gross ass mirror.

@Chris_Colucci No visible change since this pic, I’ll roll with this if that’s within the parameters.

Looks like the mirror in my teenage bedroom when I had zits!

Better than @aldebaran’s broken mirror.

Is that your belt or your wife that did a number on your abdomen?

@kdjohn I swear as soon as I own my place, the first thing I buy is a nice, clean, big ass mirror :joy:

And a copy of Hustler or Escort if you’re British :relaxed:

I’m not actually as discouraged as I think I should be. It’s just super busy and I feel crowded out of my normal spaces and routine. I’m sharing an office at the new job, sharing the room I work out of at home, and now sharing my weird little red-shag-carpeting workout room. In September I’ll close down my practice, move into a new solo office at the clinic, and have my whole house back. Until then I feel like remaining active and cheerful is the goal, and I am.

Also, on another up note, when I say I don’t know that I’ll finish what I mean is that I’m not sure I want to post yet another exact-same after pic. I actually feel pretty good about myself, though.

Maybe that should be in the Confessions thread, lol: “I feel okay about myself for no goddamn reason.”

Im Still plodding along, as always im playing the long game and just taking part in the improved category.

very happy with my back progress, picked an exercise that I had not done regularly and made it a priority, built my back sessions around improving that lift and it seems to be paying off.

Looking swole!

I appreciate it dude. Funny enough, it seems over prioritizing strength and maxes and a rigid schedule was hurting more than helping. I still have a schedule and program, but I’m much more loose with it and I’m kind of doing a “what I can when I can” thing.

(Unrelated side note) just busted out an exceptionally hard leg day. I’ve been working up to top sets on bench and DL, but figured overall volume would benefit me more on squats so I’ve been doing a step program, and Teusday was 305 for 5×7, and holy fuck my legs have never hurt so bad in my life. I’m borderline crippled. And next week is 305 5×8, here we go, chicken legs be damned.

Ya man that’s be pretty interesting to see you should post them up

Do you find gaining/losing weight that quickly benefits you?

I don’t know if it beneficial and it’s not really intentional, but I can drop fat fairly quickly, this is from July 2019 25 days between photos.
