Official 2021 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

For those of you who may be interested in a challenge for adding some mass, there is a challenge over at Reddit “The Gainit 6 Month Program Party 2021”. It is a series of programs suggested by @T3hPwnisher (MythicalStrength) for adding some size. Go have a look and see if you’re interested, but this is basically like using cheat codes. Good luck!,

I’m down to 218.5lbs (-7lbs) so far, but will be switching gears here shortly to run 5/3/1 Beefcake.

Appreciate the tag. I kept meaning to post it in here myself and never got around to it.

Folks, running BBB Beefcake, then Building the Monolith, and then Deep Water Beginner and Intermediate will transform you. @flappinit is a great example of just what all those programs can do.

I actually never ran BBB Beefcake. I think @samul did. I ran BTM and then 2 rounds of DW and saw an explosion of size and strength. I think a second run through DW is an adequate substitute for pretty much any program though, haha. I was just thinking today that I’m going to run it after a third cycle of SVR II (tomorrow’s the 3rd main lift of the 5x10 week, so 4 more weeks or 5 with a deload), you and @littlesleeper have inspired me.

Yeah, I didn’t feel it necessary to go full on into the details there, with you having run BtM and Deep Water back to back being enough of a credit to your insanity, haha.

Good to have you running it along. SVR II is a blast too, and I always abandon it for something shiny. I’ll have to come back to it after it’s all done.

Update:

Here’s my post-Base Building progress (the 8-week starting phase of Tactical Barbell). I now weigh 173 lbs (down from 178 at the entry pics) and am a bit less fluffy than I got by the end of 2020.

As cool as being lean is, I really want to add a couple of ‘useable’ lbs to my operational weight.

I’ve also been seeing a lot of vegetarian threads where people are curious but fearful of losing gains

I’m gonna combine those two things and switch back to vegetarian for a while and try to gain some weight. I think a consistent 185lb is a good goal for now

This reminds me of my plan to up my pork intake by becoming a devout Muslim.

As long as protein balance is good, I think the extra carbs could be helpful

Dairy is an amazing protein source and mixing different plant proteins also has some benefits (ie rice and beans, or tempeh)

Tbh as long as I’m in a surplus and getting 1g protein per kg I’m all good. Last time I was vegetarian was when I went from 75-77kg up to 80kg. I eat way more carbs consistently this way and that’s where I grow. Protein is really an afterthought

With eggs and egg whites, I totally see vegetarianism as viable. Veganism, on the other hand, is DEFINITELY playing the game on hard mode.

Haha yeah, I was just messin around. I have a few friends who are vegetarian and none of them are super skinny or anything, plus the recipes are really tasty.

Time to hit that GOMAD diet.

Agreed. I think if someone also allows fish (with eggs/dairy), they’re doing quite well balancing training nutrition and overall health. (I tolerate fish more than enjoy it, though. I’ve been trying to have a can of Wild Planet tuna a day lately, which is easy enough).

I went full vegan for about 6 months in my 30’s. Ate tons of beans, almond butter/Ezekiel wraps, rice, fruits/veggies, and tried to supplement with rice protein. Excelled at running endurance, but not strength training. (although it’s not like strength just drops off a cliff). I didn’t really miss the meat as much as I thought, though.

Isn’t that pecatarianism?
