Official 2021 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

Well this was short lived. Just stepped in the scale at 217, which means when I wake up I’ll be 214/215.

Yay calories.

I need to find the mojo again.

I’ve fallen into a habit of getting the training done (and numbers are improving), but I’ve lost the ability to just get up and get the sessions done first thing - cramming them in where they fit in the week now.

I’ve also been desperately loose on the diet and haven’t tracked. As of Sunday, all booze will be cut out and hopefully I’ll start leaning up.

Just signed up to play a weird Covid rules compliant version of rugby - 4 v 4 touch - on basically a half pitch - should definitely fulfil the cardio portion of my week.

OR don’t weigh yourself again after you weigh 219 again.

I once had one of those bodpod scan things for free after a charity run and it said 9%
That was a few years ago but hey, no new evidence to suggest otherwise

Go to Costco, buy a lb of smoked salmon, eat it as a meal (preferably with some garlic naan bread)

That’ll be about 3-4 days worth of sodium, and nearly 90g protein with a good helping of omega 3s and some vitamin d tacked on

I have things coming up that may give the rest of you a fighting chance. I’m getting a fat, elderly, weirdly lumpy rescue dog named “Buttons” on Sunday, who may prove to be a distraction in the mornings and who will probably not prove to be a long, arduous walk buddy. Too, her sad, worried little face may push me to spend more time scritching ears and rubbing bellies than is good for me athletically.

Second potentially challenge-damning possibility is a half-time job, which I interview for on Friday. I want friends and a team pretty desperately. I’m hoping one of my new friends, should I get the job, will prove to be a workout type and we can do such things together, but we’ll see. They could be eating friends instead, and as we all should know by now, I’m a weak-willed follower.

Edit: on the other hand, Buttons is 75 pounds, and is really a medium sized dog. There is some question as to how she’ll get into the Jeep to go live our lives of adventure, so it may be that my lifting stats go up. We also want her to go potty at the treeline across the yard, which is pretty deep in snow, so how she’ll get there is another question.

Treeline across the yard. There’s a wall in the foreground that she’ll have to go around. The snow can be expected to last, in some form, until April:

Such blasphemy. Texas BBQ doesn’t rely on a sugary sauce to make it palatable. Lockhart probably has 4 of the best BBQ places in the country.

Amen!!! I grew up in Memphis and never liked bbq growing up. Then I realized that I love bbq, just not bbq drowned in sauce with enough sugar to put you in a diabetic coma

FYI, Kerrygold has these amazing dubliner cheese wedges
Only 45kcal/wedge, 8 in a container. Absolutely amazing

You might have to shovel a path across the yard, and that is really good exercise/activity.

Going back a bit here. Speaking of Layne Norton, do you use diet breaks? Anyone feel free to chime in here. Really just looking for an excuse to intermittently eat more.

My experience of Layne Norton so far has been 2 weeks of using the CarbonDiet app so I can’t comment on that.

By “diet breaks”, I assume you mean just periods of time where you eat whatever you want, cheat meal/day style? In which case, yes, I did one of those from the ages of about 29-32. It was fun.

What kind of diet break are you thinking? Days? Weeks? Just increasing calories or a full blown Man vs. Food style pig out?

I was thinking for every three weeks of ‘cutting’ calories, have one week at maintaince. Keep up the protein and healthy meal plan.

Man vs. Food style pig out sounds way more fun, but yes, I wouldn’t be packing around the extra cushion if I hadn’t had plenty of those.

I’m pretty dumb, so take this with a pinch of salt, but I think as long as you average a deficit over the 4 weeks, you’ll still lose the weight.

I must be dumber, because that didn’t cross my mind :woman_facepalming: Works out to be a less aggresive cut. (Really not aggressive, I’m at the standard 500/day, but for me that works out to be 1400-1500 cals…) Your cut sounds way harder. I’ll sit over here quietly.

That’s such a nice way of telling me I’m way fatter.

the rumor is that having maintenance weeks(not above) will stretch out the diet accordingly, however, this way more lean mass gets retained.

Regardless I like a fast and aggressive approach… just get it over with, no need to drag it out.

Thought I would try out the trash talking sabotage. But @Chieftain has a point, fast and aggressive approach (going to ignore the obvious other joke here)

Not directed at anyone. I play this while looking in the mirror each morning for motivation.

Covid-19 vaccine gave me flu symptoms. I hope to get well soon, I’m not doing so much good in gym and kitchen this time. Just ate muesli, chocolate and peanut butter at 4AM :sob:
