My favorite curl is the one where you reach overhead with a neutral grip and then pull your body upwards. I also like to get a nice stretch in the bis by doing neutral grip isometric holds in a lengthened position and then going for a walk
thatâs exactly what I thought of!
Whatâs a curl?
Effective Curls!
The discussion should be about the most effective curls.
Quick! Somebody make a thread!
Itâs like discussing what your favorite kind of stab wound is.
Not sure about âmost effectiveâ, but my favorite curl is the one I do on the couch, with Netflix on and possibly a goblet of wine close at hand.
For me it would be more like discussing my favourite shade of beige.
So if I understand you correctlyâŠif I am just doing a Biceps day, I should basically start by burning my biceps with direct arm work until they are nice and crispy. And then finish them off with some variation of pull-ups or similar. (I did exactly this yesterday based on what I thought you were telling me)
But if it is back day, just do all the regular back stuff, then do the biceps work afterwards. And maybe finish them off with some pulls-ups.
That about right? Normally, if I do any biceps work at all, it is after the back work, and then only half-assed.
Should be fine. Just remember that youâre doing the pullups to target biceps, so while most people would target the lower (closer to fully extended arms) 2/3 ROM for lats, youâd want to focus on the top 2/3 ROM for more biceps, BUT if youâre one of those people who rest at the top (effectively deloading the biceps), make sure you really milk that negative!

So you are giving me a license to not extend, whatâs not to like? I like negatives (and isometrics holds at various points) and also build that sort of thing in. I will continue to do so with a mind for burning up my biceps.
@The_Mighty_Stu dropping in here with some bicep training gold. Looks like I have been doing it wrong for 30 years. Maybe that explains my shite biceps !! ![]()

Look a lot leaner than me!
Never realised what a long torso you have. If you havenât checked out @kleinhound s log do. He has a ton of crossfit-esque conditioning workouts posted there recently which might suit you given your recent foray into that type of training
Thatâs your idea of fat ![]()

Yer I wished my fat looked like that!
Not sure thatâs true. The only possible takeaway is that itâs not his definition of lean. And joining the transformation seems more motivated by gaining a certain amount of pounds within a certain amount of time.
Either way, he can afford to do what he wants with his weight and body composition, while others cannot. And shouldnât incorporate into their own thoughts what someone else is doing.
Yea I definitely donât think Iâm fat, just not as lean as I like to be an look my best
.
I guess one normally tenses when looking in the mirror, so a relaxed photo is a little humbling ha
Nothing humble about those quads!
