Not Sure About Max OT

Anyone here try AST’s max ot training regimen? A couple of my friends have tried with great results…counters a few beliefs I have after reading some of the articles on this site…check it out and let me know what you think…

I’ve given it a shot a couple of times. The first time I had to stop after about 8 weeks due to an injury and the second I just recently stopped after 9 weeks due to not having time to get to the gym 5 nights a week and feeling kind of burned out.

I like the idea behind it. It’s great going balls-out on every set and moving some good weights around. That’s about all I was able to gain from it was strength increases, which is fine.

Both times that I’ve tried it I did because I was getting tired of doing full-body workouts and wanted to take a short break from them and I will probably continue to come back to it for that reason.

If you aren’t sure about it then don’t do it. Pick a program you have 100% faith in.

Its not that im “not sure about max ot”, Im just curious to know if others have done it and what their results were.

The reason why the subject line is what it is, is because the mod’s changed the wording.

Tried it, didn’t like it.

Gains were mediocre at best and I felt like I constantly needed a spotter to hold my hand through the complexes (especially when they recommend going to absolute failure).

I think with even max strength focussed programs, you need a little density/chaos work to fully stimulate growth.
