If you are gaining fat then there is not way your body is catabolizing muscle. It’s just fluctuation of dermal water.
If anything your body is building muscle at night. the most growth and repair and hormone release occurs nocturnally during full sleep cycles. Muscle was never grown in the gym you fool, it grows at night. It just gets edema and swelling from micro trauma/blood flow at/after training.
Quit reading, eat more fats and keep training for ‘years’ then tell us your shit doesn’t work.

STOP IMMEDIATELY!!!
You need to see a doctor. You have a very serious condition! If your body chooses muscle as a fuel source when you sleep then it will also do it when you are awake. It will soon begin to feast on your bones and you will become - THE BLOB!!!
*You may not become the worlds strongest man by adding 5lbs to the bar each time you train but you will certainly give the dumbest man in the world a run for his money if you continue down this road.

OK, serious. If I had to make a guess, then I suspect that you are losing the pump from your workout as you sleep. This is normal.
If you are eating enough and your training is in order then you need patience. You may not be eating as much as you think or your program may need tweaking.
There are smart folks here that will help if you slow down, come with a plan and ask for advice and take it.

You are correct. You have no idea.
What kind of a moron would look for (or pretend to have observed) oscilating body size increments and decrements on an hourly rate?

Alright sorry, my english and grammar is very bad I know this. I will try to make myself clearer ok.
My bodypart measurements are the same now as they were a month ago. Arms 15.5 inches chest 43 legs 23 waist 36, small I know but I was even smaller when I began! The only thing that has grown is my waist, which has gained an inch. My lifts are all the same - If i try and go for another rep I cant make it or if I add weight (microplates) I lose a rep or 2 unless I use horrible form. Are you telling me that what I see and feel a couple of meals after my workout is not new muscle that has been built?
I feel/see this the day after to, but to a lesser extent.
Then the day after that I look exactly like i did before my last workout and dont feel any stronger at all. Which makes me believe I am losing LBM during the night. ;(
I have done some googling and all these sources seem to support that you CAN lose muscle during the night.

You guys disagree with all of the above?
that shut u up lol
obvious troll is obvious
Speaking from experience, yes, I disagree. And I doubt I’m the only person on this forum who has tried consuming a protein shake in the middle of night every night only to see absolutely no difference.
Feel free to consume a shake in the middle of the night, but if it’s interfering with your sleep, then it’ll likely set you back even farther. If you really want to ignore everyone’s advice, go ahead, but why post in this forum in first place? It seems like your wasting everyone’s time, including your own.
If your lifts are stagnating, perhaps you need to deload for a week or switch programs - or at least change your set/rep scheme.
If your lack of progress really is due to diet, it’s probably due to a crappy diet during the daytime, not your lack of nighttime cals. Judging by your 36" waist, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if you were eating more carbs than your body can handle. If nothing else, a diet higher in fat may make your body burn fat preferentially.

We don’t disagree that muscle can be lost at night.
We disagree on the observable oscillations you claim to observe on yourself.
We disagree that the list of articles you googled support your retarded claims. That is, you fail at reading comprehension.
We agree on that you don’t know what the hell you are doing or talking about.
Good luck with you supposed training. I see a bright physically build future for you.
speaking of sleep. are you getting enough. how’s your recovery? if you’re really busting your balls in the gym and eatting enough. then it could be a recovery issue. or metabolic/hormonal. thyroid issues, liver problems, cortisol, etc. but more than likely its in you head.
Bodybuilding isn’t for everyone. Not everyone has the genetics to be strong and/or look good.
The part that sucks for you is that those people usually have a brain that helps them get somewhere in life.
You’re 17-18 right?
Alright, alright, I’ll reveal the big secret we all keep.
We don’t sleep.
We just stay up and sip Metabolic Drive; that’s the only way to gain muscle.
Now you know, so go out and practice this age-old teaching.
