Not as Fat Guy in a Little Coat

MM: I think I’d be scared if I ran into you on the street. Yeah, that squat flew up. Another 20 lb. should be easy for you.

Jowie: Nice depth! I’ve never fallen back on a squat but have pitched forward. Scary.

i doubt it…unless my awkward smile would scare you away. the bands add over 100lbs at the top so i’m really hoping to hit 600 against the bands. they really teach you to stay tight and explode out of the hole. if you don’t, the bands will put you on your ass.

jowee has fallen about every which way you can think of. he keeps gett’n back up though:)

9-20-10 Military Press - Week 2, Wave 2

Military Press
10xBar
5x95
3x145
3x165
3x185 +2 Rep PR
0x205
10x145 +10 LB PR
8x135

Cybex Triceps Pushdown
4 sets 10-15 reps

Decline Situps
24xBW+25
12xBW+25

Thats it. Everything felt really heavy today, pretty sure it was because my arms were aching really bad from squats still. Those 3 reps with 185 were really hard, and I think I was just too drained to get 205.

Videos up now scott… damn I got home just a few minutes ago… helping sister move furniture was fun after that session. Arms were aching pretty bad bringing couches up 3 flights of stairs, lol.

cycle 2, week 2

military press- decided to work up to a single after my working sets today. 305 was a 5lb PR. I did everything wrong during that set and still got it. I forgot to take in a breath before stepping back and then when i presses, i got back on my heels and almost lost it behind me. i stuck with it and was able to lock it out. i think i’m good for 315 if i take my time. i’ll move up to 310 next week.

warmup
0x6
135x6

working sets
(70%) 205x3
(80%) 230x3
(90%) 260x3

305x1

205x10,10,10

cybex tricep machine

who cares it’s a machine x 10 x 4

decline situps with 25lbs

12 x 2

was short on time and tired. still got my work in and hit a 5lb PR.

well done!

I totally understand the breathing issue. But kudos for getting the bar up nonetheless.

thanks:) hopefully with more solid form i’ll get 315 in the next couple weeks.

Yeah. Me Too. Okay, maybe 315 is a bit ambitious.

from the looks of your avatar i would say those shoulders can put up some pretty good weight.

i also like that fact that you actually have a picture of yourself and not some cartoon character. not sure why that bothers me so much. i would have one of me but my daughter is so much cuter.

it bothers you because you are old, and a deviant.

That looked like a closer grip than usual for you. Nice work, meaty one. You going to let PC know when you lock out the 315? There’s damn few on the whole site who can and are following the challenge he threw down.

i find that for standing military i get more leverage and support with a narrow grip. if i go wider it doesn’t feel nearly as stable at the bottom and i don’t have nearly the power from the bottom.

I don’t think he’s posting over hear anymore is he?? with any luck i’ll get that 315 in the next two weeks.

thanks Pale One. it’s amazing how making things about as basic as they can get can make one stronger.

That’s your daughter? I just thought that was you without the beanie from a different angle.

9-22-10 Deadlifts - Week 2, Wave 2

Conventional Deadlifts
6x135
4x225
1x315
3x425
3x475
3x505 +some kind of PR, lol.
*Mini bands
1x525

Machine Abs
3 sets 20,15,10

HS Leg Curl
10x2 plates
10x3 plates

Really happy with tonight. Especially since i’ve been doing a lot of heavy lifting the last few days for work and felt beat up but thought of dave and how he does that for work all the time so I tucked my vagina back and got in there and it went well. My PR against mini bands is 535, and that was hitched a bit. That 525 surprised me with how fast I locked it out. Next week I’m going to go for 545. Dave had to get out of there and scott wasn’t there tonight so I just did a bit more and left.

looked very easy jowee. i guess i’ll have to up the weight significantly next week:) what did dave end up pulling??

Great pulling Jowee. You’ll be pullling 600 in no time now.

Dave went for 545 but missed it. He got it all the way to his upper thighs… I thought he had it. His grip didn’t give out though. He seemed to be having an off night anyway.

Thanks. 600 is my gym PR. I went through a ‘cutting’ phase a lil while ago because im dumb… but I lost some strength. 525 is what I did when I pulled 600… and last night it was much easier this time. My goal is to hit 600 or more in our full meet coming up.

Jowee,I did the same thing. Got down to 250-255 and lost strength. Now back up to 265 and feel stronger then ever. I’m chasing the 600+ lb deadlift as well. Hoping to get it my up coming meet.
